Rough game. But this team is going to need to learn it needs to play 60minutes to win consistently in this league.
Look at Foligno. He was one of the most inconsistent players on the roster until a year ago. Now he's the 100% 100% of the time player. It took a few years for him to get there, especially as a power forward on the wing.
I think he looked solid with O'Reilly & Reinhart. Kane was doing good things with Larsson and Gionta but will need to play more to gain chemistry.
As many said before the season started, this isn't a race, it's a marathon, and that sucks because we've waited already for to get Eichel/Reinhart etc. but we've got to give them time to develop.
This team will likely do what many of us figured, stay in the picture and finish somewhere in the 8-11 range in the Eastern Conference. Probably won't make the playoffs, but weirder things have happened and the Atlantic is such a tight division right now between 3-8 (Ottawa seems to be running away with 2nd, with 41points in 33GP), Buffalo has 32 points in 31gp, Boston is 3rd with 37points in 34games.
Toronto has flashy players that started really hot but have cooled off and their defense is constantly exposed.
Detroit also has a bad defense, and they just seem lost as a group.
Florida got lucky tonight, but the entire organization seems to be a bit of a mess.
Tampa really seems to be struggling with the injuries to Stralman and Stamkos.
Boston goes as far as Rask takes them. And they've yet to feel the injury bug, which will likely hit at some point.
So basically, we're still in it, it's a young group, this is part of the process.
