No. You're trying to compare two VERY different styles. Quick relies on "spectacular" saves. Bernier relies in being in position so he doesn't have to make "spectacular" saves.

Clifford stopped an empty net shot on Bernier tonight after he gave up a rebound and he wasn't in position to stop the shot. That's all I want the defense to do for Quick. There have been a ton of goals this year that have been scored because the defense leaves a guy wide open on the other side of the net or they turn it over in the defensive zone. Bernier would not have been able to stop them either, positioning or no, unless the defenders do their jobs.

Why is it when Bernier lets in goals it's never ever his fault, yet if quick gives one up it's always he's out of position or should of have made the save?

Some of the statements being said on these threads are just mind boggling, from wondering how goalie coaches have jobs to wanting to start Bernier 100% of the games going forward.

Bernier is playing well, Quick is struggling. It's obvious. People just need to stop going off the deep end with the asinine comments. There is no way in hell either goalie should be playing 3 games in 4 nights, nor should either start both games of the back to back.

I wish some posters were more objective in watching the games rather than posting based on their personal feelings about certain players all the time.

Um winger this is a forum site which means bi-polar is rampant. Just sit back and when Quick gets his consecutive shutouts we will all say how much of a god he is.

Toffoli was just fine, matter of fact I was fact he had such chances and plays with two stars on his line. I know they fed him the puck but he positioned well and skated well. Hopefully he stays up cause the third line with Penner was sexy as well

From the GDT:

Anyone have the video?

Don't have the video but it the question was (paraphrasing) "Kings have won 9 out of the last 10 here at Staples Centre, what is so special about playing here?"...what else was Bernier to say other than what he said..."the great fans we have here!"...

He has been using that line all season....

Toffoli was great. Had two great scoring chances in his first NHL game. There are highly touted prospects that go weeks before they even figure out how to get in position for their first scoring chance.

Kid obviously has great offensive instincts and plays on the right side of the puck. He's going to be a good player in this league.

Nice to get a win. Need more of that against Phoenix the next couple of days to put some distance on the 9th place team.

My favourite part of the game tonight was Kopitar's assist. That assist epitomised (sp?) what Kopitar and the Kings is all about. He was making a timely interception in front of Bernier's net with a Shark ready to pounce on the puck, skated the puck out of danger behind the net and chipped it to Brown to start the counterattack that lead Williams' goal. A nice assist on a strong defensive play.

The team game starts by strong defensive plays.

He was 5-1 in starts going into tonight. But he did get a loss for the game on Thursday since he let in the game winning goal.

No, Bernier is 6-0 in starts. He "lost" against Anaheim and SJ in relief of quick. He had no decision against St. Louis because the kings came back in the third to give quick the win.

6-2 overall and 6-0 in starts. Overall, he has a 1.94 gaa and a 0.916 sv%. Bernier clearly gives the kings their best chance to win this season. He should get the majority of starts for the rest of march. Will Sutter do it? Doughtful.

Some more love for Lewis on my behalf.

Would love to hear what Clifford said to the ref when he got out of the box after Sharks scored.

love this:

San Jose Head Coach Todd McLellan:
“How frigging disappointing is that? We play against the Stanley Cup champions back-to-back. We’re lucky enough to win one in San Jose.

He knows his days in SJ are numbered.

Was that really Clifford's first multi-point game? Feel like he's gotten that before. Maybe first multi goal game?

Solid effort tonight! I thought Toffoli look like he belonged there. Could of netted 2 goals tonight. Shake off the nerves kid!

Correct. First multi-goal game, he's had 3 multi-point games prior to this one.

Richards with 13 min?

He has 1 game this year where he has played over 20 minutes a game. He use to avg 21 min a game.

What the hell is going on here. I know the kings blew out the sharks but it would make sense to play Richards one of your best defensive forwards to preserve that lead.
