Cap friendly has us at 33 players..............10 guys need to be removed.
Is today the day we find out? Or tomorrow?
From what I could gather, final rosters have to sent to the NHL at 5 PM today.

(Doesn't mean trades can't be made, it's just that the roster has to be compliant).

From the Capfriendly roster these can be removed:

Forwards:

Ylonen
Heineman
RHP

Defenseman:

Scheuneman
Bowey
Mailloux

Goalie:

Primeau

Then you have others like Byron and Armia injured, Edmundson injured, and then you decide Barron or Leskinen, who goes down. and you are at 23

They have to submit a cap compliant 23 man (or less) roster by 5 pm.

Bowey & Schue are already in Laval.

Still some moves to make.

Primeau assigned to Laval

On D:

I expect Mailloux to be moved to SOIR (Season Opening Injured Reserve) until he can be assigned to London. By signing him & putting him on SOIR, he actually gives us cap relief.

Edmundson to IR
Leskinen & Barron to Laval

7D: Matheson, Savard, Guhle, Wideman, Xhekaj, Harris & Kovacevic

Fowards:

Heineman to SOIR
Armia to IR

Slafkovsky, RHP & Ylonen to Laval (Slafkovsky can get recalled tomorrow)

14F: Suzuki, Caufield, Anderson, Gallagher, Hoffman, Drouin, Dadonov, Pezzetta, Dvorak, Dach, Pitlick, Evans, Monahan & Byron.

On Wednesday, Byron gets put on LTIR, and Slafkovsky is recalled from Laval.
Sounds well thought out for sure.

This is why we don't allow tank talk in GDTs. You're trolling those who want to cheer for the team regardless. This will be enforced again this year.
As such anti-tank talk should not be allowed in this thread. We don’t need people constantly bringing up the loser mentality or lottery odds.

Management built a roster fit for bottom of the league (on purpose this time)and we are just embracing that while dreaming of Bedard

Medical updates:

Heineman out 6 weeks with Thumb Injury.
Armia out 1-2 weeks upper body
Edmundson Skating - No Timeline
Matheson - Day to Day - Lower Body

Suzuki, Dvorak and Hoffman 100% and back to practice at 11am
So 4 injuries so they can keep 26 guys + Byron up ?

Heineman is struggling to stay healthy in his young career.

Edmundson can no longer be counted on
In both cases, are these new injuries?

Heineman just appeared to go hard into the boards and may have jammed his thumb. He could be seen grimacing as he was moving the fingers of his rIght hand. Doesn’t mean he’s injury-prone.

He seems to have been injured quite often in his young career.
Bad luck perhaps...

Heineman's injury seems to time just enough to let him stay in the AHL after Dec 1.

I think they keep Leskinen to start the season, Harris too but Xhekaj goes to Laval. He could use some time to develop his hockey skills and will certainly be one of the first call ups.

I don't think Harris proved he was better or more ready than Xhekaj who while not perfect didn't lose board battles and brought intangibles Harris cannot bring.

I think Tanking can be done for a maximum of 2 seasons. Any more leads to negative outcomes. Be careful what you wish for.
Well, we tanked last year and we'll tank this year. That's two. I don't know why you're sounding the alarm bells. Most posters just want a chance at Bedard/Michkov/Fantilli/Karlsson/Sale and are ready to compete next year.
