Rhéaume was saying yesterday on local radio they want to get bigger, I guess it's part of this plan.

166 PIM in 47 games too, former 3rd round choice. It seems the entire org from NHL/AHL/ECHL is stacking Ds

Andrew Nielsen, ex Leafs draft pick?

Really liked him in his draft year, think the feet never got to a place where he could defend at the pro level.

So now on ECHL deals:

D
Eric Hjorth (6'3" & 192 lbs)
Andrew Nielsen (6'4" & 225 lbs)
Markus Komuls (6' & 190 lbs)

F
Anthony Beauregard (5'7" & 165 lbs) has 3R goal scoring record - 26 goals last year
Connor Chaulk (6'2" & 201 lbs)
Nicolas Larivière (6'4" & 203 lbs)
William Lemay (5'10" & 185 lbs)
Céedric Montminy (5'11" & 190 lbs) Captain

On Two-Way AHL deals:

G
Zachary Émond (6'3" & 181 lbs)

D
Noah Laaouan (6' & 195 lbs)

On One-Way AHL deals but most likely be in 3R:

G
Strauss Mann (6' & 174 lbs) could end up back up in Laval also

F
Riley McKay (6' & 203 lbs)
John Parker-Jones (6'7" & 229 lbs)
Jakov Novak (6'3" & 203 lbs)
Alex-Olivier Voyer (6'2" & 192 lbs)

According to this, with some guys being there for sure due to being on ECHL deals, and some who could end up in 3R at least to start the season, 3R will have 2G, 4D, 9F.

Then there are some young guys who might start the year in 3R, two guys I'm thinking of are Tourigny and possibly Davidson.

The ECHL is a particular league where there is a weekly cap you need to respect and it's not technically a 23-man roster like we're used to, Your line-up could end up being 20 one night and 18 the next.

But we can expect more ECHL & AHL signings coming up, which could end up adding more depth in 3R.

Vrbetic not coming back, maybe?

Rhéaume was talking about how it's a balance between not sign too many guys, cause of Laval assignments and still having a good pool of regulars. Not that easy. Would be a lot easier if they could get an agreement with the LNAH.

TR also gave Qualifying Offers to eight players:
D Bradley Johnson
D Shane Kuzmecki
D Sam Dunn
D Connor Welsh
D Alex Breton
F Cole Gallant
F Nicolas Guay
F Zach Kaiser

I would not be surprised to see G Joe Vrbetic extended one year by Laval. Habs have two more years to sign him to an ELC.

Here's what the TR Lions team could look like this year.Approx

Chaulk-Montmigny-Beauregard
Kaiser-Guay-JP Jones
McKay-Lemay-Novak
Lariviere-Galant-Voyer

Breton-Hjortj
Welsh-Komuls
Nielsen-Laaouan
Kuzmeski-Dunn
Johnson

Emond
Mann

They will be much bigger and taller. and several new players. But they have lost talented forwards (Dubé, Stapley, Francis). In net it doesn't look much better than last year...will see

Did TR lose those two? I have not seen them sign anywhere else.

It has to be one of those two as they both had 47 pts last season.

Francis did it in 57 games, while Guay did it in 72. Francis also had 23 goals, while Guay had 12.

Francis is 21, while Guay is 24. So you're right in saying Francis has more room to grow.
Francis was surprisingly good last year. When he's on he was TR best forward.

Seeing as it's a 2-way contract, 3R announces the signing, as well.

22 year old LD
5'11" & 172 lbs

Last two years in the ECHL:
2021-22: 38 pts (12G, 26A) in 54 GP
2022-23: 32 pts (4G, 28A) in 44 GP

I wonder why hjorth came to echl , i thought he could've played on a better contract in Europe. Makes me think of Vincent Desharnais path.

I assume he's still trying to make the NHL. CBJ had his rights up until June 1st this year.
