remember all the number one picks before them? Everyone said how " scary good " they'd be? 1 good playoff run in 10 years. No goaltending either.

Buffalo will get the top pick, the Ducks will go second, just like the Crosby draft.
I’m not saying there’s many McDavids all I’m saying all it takes is one great draft pick and another top line player then you can push forward pretty far like the oilers have with McDavid and Draisaitl. Not saying it’s a recipe for the ultimate success just that there is definitely a road to tread with that recipe.

Seems like it was a good win. Some nice goals. Was hoping Vilardi would get going again. Dude hasn’t scored in weeks. Nice to see Spence finally get a game too.

He's in a tough spot....he was doing so well....cooled off......then gets 4th line duty.....you can see the talent, but I don't agree with putting him on the 4th line....once...ok....but more than that....not sure what TM is trying to tell him, unless he's still punishing him for that errant pass in the Seattle game.....

We have a couple of Good Young Defensive prospects coming up.. Zelweger, Helleson, Myntikov.. Name a few. Drysdale is coming into his own.. Beniot is turning into a physial Force.. Its slowly coming together.. Eakins needs to go. Like yesterday!!!
Why? He‘s the Ducks version of WD40. Horrible coach, high draft pick.

Yah, that would be fun...reading monotonous posts on how stupid I am and how I should be fired.
Being in his position, there are very few people who will tell you that your are f***ing up until its too late. Personally I would look for anything to get another perspective...I doubt he would be offended by any of it..maybe you could ask him for us and we'll tone it down if so

This board might be at an all time low if we are seriously suggesting that an NHL coach should be reading an internet message board for ideas or 'another perspective.'

Maybe TM will hire @Sol as an assistant coach?

I don’t think your father would pass up on you with How much you’ve dedicated yourself to defending his name on HF 🤣

-When we play good teams we get smoked!
-When we play teams with Swiss cheese in their roster we look good.
- We are a black hole team that had a good run last year.
-Our goaltending got a year older and the yearly decline for quick is gonna be steep.
- Our d pairings are not cohesive or balanced. -
-Hope we hold on to our 1st round pick.
-Hope we clear out some of the toys on the prospect shelf to allow some of them to stretch their legs.
-If we are gonna not be a contender goals are fun to watch.

That’s my honest assessment of the season so far!

Well its not like there is a press here in LA that will ask hard questions as in Canada... he's surrounded by family (you) and sycophants.. like I said, when you are in a high position of power its hard to find some alternate perspective.. and believe it or not twitter and fan forums is full of former coaches/players that played/coached at a high level - so its not as absurd as you may think.. And I think Sol would be a fine assistant coach - I bet he gets the PK working better than it is now.

Reading this and watching at standings... Come on, I can see only room for progress. Tough Tmac should be better at that task. For now I am positive for this team.

There is room for progress once room is made. The bottom 4 d and bottom 6 forward groups are suffocating.

Goaltending hit rock bottom 2 weeks ago onky one way up.

I still think they can only go so far with an anchor tied to their ankles.

it's fair. I am ok with dealing a conditional first as long as what comes back solves our goaltending long term

It does have the feel of last year where they're running with a weight vest...but last year it was due to injuries, this year it's due to roster configuration (and prior schedule) and self-inflicted wounds. Yet they're many of the same issues persisting, yet are headed towards almost exactly the same spot in the standings/points totals.

It’s hilarious ducks fans are calling the game boring cos their team flat out sucked. Maybe suck a little less and it’ll be more entertaining for you.

haha - possible.. if I were an NHL coach I would read these boards to see what its like on the outside looking in
Man, I hope not. As much as I bag on McLellan and Blake's decisions, I don't want them getting inspiration from randos on the Internet.

We lack context for these decisions. It's important that we acknowledge that. But Blake and McLellan should be making sound, informed decisions. They just have more information than we do, and we can't reasonably know the right answer for them. We only know the right answer based on our own context.

It's also frustrating cause when he was with Kopi and Kempe he was performing better than Kempe, but he was taken off first during their struggles and Kempe was allowed to continue to struggle on the first line for a few more games before he was finally demoted. He's still been getting decent chances. I really want them to recall Byfield and see if they can recapture the chemistry they had cause this is the second time Vilardi has performed really well with a specific player then unforeseen circumstances separate them and they don't put them back together as soon as they can.

Thing is, they could make a run at the division and maybe win a round if they kept the kids out of the bottom six and added a physical LHD, a physical bottom 6er and a PK specialist.

They can't afford those, and the best chance at real success is still positioning the kids to supplant the vets. That will take patience, experience and a willingness to accept some losses during the process.

This current path is such a mixed message that delutes the chances now and in the future. Makes one think that there are multiple agendas happening at the same time and too often conflicting with each other.
