Prayer chain needed for ARCA Series driver Derek Lancaster, who was injured earlier this afternoon near the end of Talladega's ARCA Event which preceded the rain shortened XFINITY Race;

the update isn't promising as this driver has already recovered from a serious neck injury several years back and was out until the final 2 months of the season...

Lancaster is in a a Talladega area hospital on a ventilator with 2nd/3rd degree burns from today's incident......

Lancaster Update: will be on a ventilator until Tuesday or Wednesday but luckily no external damage to the lung function as initially feared following yesterday's incident at Talladega....

prayers still needed for a full recovery, though....

Valvoline extends contract: another 2 year minimum extension for that corporation who first aligned with Roush Fenway on the iconic #6; Valvoline recently has been a part of Hendrick Motorsports getting team brand status among other perks;

the latest extension will see the brand be primary sponsors for both the 5-Larson (3 races per season) and the 24-Byron (2 races per season);

Valvoline again makes more news with Hendrick and the 24-Byron;

the 1981 Southern 500 schematic of Rahmoc Racing and the Valvoline #75 driven by the legend Neil Bonnett will be reintroduced to the NASCAR Fanbase for the Darlington weekend next Sunday on FOX

and the famed DIGARD Gatorade Chevrolet will return Saturday at Darlington as Michael Annett's # 1 WILL FLASH BACK to that iconic schematic through sponsor Pilot/Flying J for JRM;

DAJ Racing also will return as a throwback schematic as their 2006 XFINITY Scheme will be featured on the 51-Clements

FOX Sports media note: 5th annual Steve Byrnes Memorial Award of Broadcasting scholarship recipient named; it should be a familiar recipient to those who watched Steve in his various roles and why the Fox Sports Charlotte studio that NASCAR Race Hub is based out of is the Steve Byrnes Memorial Studio as those who have seen the i racing Pro Invitational know as well is filmed there in Studio B.
