Talladega Superspeedway is the only track where the 1986 Winston 500 was almost delayed due to a power failure, then a erstwhile fan elected to joyride the 1986 Pontiac pace car before being blocked in Turn 4

Moffitt/Gase switch contracts as to what series they'll be eligible for as both will attempt to run for the XFINITY championship this season...
Moffitt has enough starts in the 02 to race for the championship after doubling in both the XFINITY and Truck Series the last few seasons;
Gase will switch from the 53/28 Cup points to the XFINITY Title as well

the announcement switch by Moffitt to the XFINITY Championship means Moffitt will not be able to fulfill the schedule that he had agreed to with Niece Motorsports as well as OUR Motorsports when both the Trucks and XFINITY are at the same facility, or track but running both series is now no longer an option... although Niece can request him as a part-time driver for their #45.... something Ross Chastain did successfully accomplish after his exit from JDMGK.... when he ran for Niece and Kaulig Racing simultaneously

looks like Talladega is a no go for Saturday; still no official confirmation from NASCAR yet as to what the status is of either the ARCA Menards Series race or the XFINITY Series race being held as previously scheduled tomorrow afternoon on FS1;
