74-Currey will run the 1981 "Grey Ghost" schematic made iconic by Bobby Allison;

21-Smith honors the Sharecropper/NASCAR Hall of Famer Glen Wood @ Darlington;

Pocono announces one sponsorship has been set for its 2021 Doubleheader weekend; which in essence is a quaddruple header to a 5 races in 2 days, if you count to the ARCA Series;

the Explore the Pocono Mountains 350 sponsorship was announced for the Sunday 6/27/21 date

Bobby Hamilton Racing will be returning as RACKLEY W.A.R. Racing will flash back to that #4 CWTS Team for next weekend's Darlington race w/Timothy Peters piloting the #25

Another throwback schematic revealed for next weekend's Darlington race;

the 1999 Stewart ROY Home Depot Chevrolet with a different sponsor Henry Rifles will adorn the SHR #98 Ford of Riley Herbst for the XFINITY race

ARCA Medical update from Talladega: driver Derek Lancaster remains in an Alabama hospital; but has been cleared of the ventilator that he was medically placed in after last week's ARCA Race @ Talladega Superspeedway.

no timetable has been announced if Lancaster will return to the ARCA Series or retire.

More Darlington schematic throwbacks released:

JTG Daugherty will honor Trent Owens initial entry in the CWTS (#15) for Ryan Preece's open 37 car;
Stenhouse's #47; will flash back to PPI Motorsports and Maine native Ricky Craven;

both the #12 of Blaney and the #5 of Larson will flash back to their initial cars as they were coming up the ranks.... Blaney will be an Advance schematic sponsor; Larson by Hendrick Cars.com;

Robert Pressley also gets honored by Spire and the #77 @ Darlington;

CWTS:

Easycare, a division of APCO Holdings will be given primary sponsorship status on the hood of the JAR # 3 @ Kansas

Thee Dixon tribute schematic for Matt Jaskol/MBM/13 @ Darlington;

Harrison Burton to run the 2007 Holiday Inn schematic with DEX Imaging run by father Jeff for RFR @ Darlington;

First Pacific now backing Jeremy Clements in the 51 for a full season;

Norm Benning Racing is stuck at Kansas Speedway even if the team races tonight; they have no way of leaving the track;

Benning just confirmed that his 2002 Ford F350 WAS Stolen from the Hotel he was staying at (Choice/Custom Inn) near Kansas Speedway;

shades of Mike Harmon Racing having their hauler stolen last season while carrying the 47 entry home from a race weekend

Norm Benning Racing update:

as of 3 pm CT no update on perpertrator who stole the 2002 Ford 150; is seeking assistance from friends from Atlanta to let the team leave Kansas for PA, to drop trailer off to focus on rest of season.

Retro week begins for the 1st time since the promotion was instituted for the return of the Southern 500 to Labor Day weekend; this year, NBC defers the retro week to FOX due to their other commitments and existing contracts;

the Legends were introduced for the 2021 Retro weekend:

Friday: Greg Biffle honorary legend for the CWTS Race;

Saturday: the return of the #8 Chevrolet Nova of Dale Sr. to be driven by Hall of Fame inductee Dale, Jr. co owner of JRM for the XFINITY portion;

Sunday: Hall of Famers Bill Elliott running the famed Coors Thunderbird; and Leonard Wood running a 1971 schematic run by Mr. Darlington himself, the Silver Fox, the legendary David Pearson; Leonard also will be the honorary starter for the Cup race;

00-Starcom Racing will pay tribute and honor John Andretti this weekend;

16-Allmendinger will retro his schematic Saturday to his 1st Cup scheme;

Breaking:

GMS Racing to shrink temporarily to 4 trucks; releases Quebec native Raphael Lessard after 7 races citing sponsorship/pandemic;

rumblings now that Ryan Reed will be in the truck this weekend, but not confirmed yet.... as to the status past this week is TBD
