Thornton is a loser who will never win a cup, just like Torts said.

Bring Bozak back only if its a bargain. Otherwise, thank you for the cup and good luck elsewhere. We still have RFAs we need to lock up.

Do Neighbors or Perunovich have a shot at making the team this year?

Perunovich maybe, Neighbors probably not.

All Perunovich needs to do is be better than Walman or Mikkola, and those aren't crazy hurdles to jump based on last season.

Neighbors isn't strong enough to play a 4th line role, and everyone in our top 9 is way better than he is.

I’d like to move Tarasenko and Sanford and sign Ritchie. I think he’d be a perfect 3LW for us.

Well considering Perunovich didn't play at all last year, I'd say that hurdle is much taller than you would think.

I suspect Nikita Alexandrov will come to camp with a chance to win a job. He probably starts the year in Springfield, but he's often overlooked in the depth charts.

Is he a better prospect than Neighbours?

I would love to see Ritchie and/or Kase to be signed for the 3rd line.

Perron-RoR-Buch
Saad-Schenn-Kyrou
Kostin/Richie-Thomas-Kostin/Kase
Sanford-Sunny-Barbie

Can't agree about Kase. With all the grief Schwartz has received over his tenure about being unable to stay healthy, Kase makes him look near ironman like...

Kase games played by NHL season...
2016-17 53 NHL, 14 AHL (67/82)
2017-18 66 NHL, 1 AHL (67/82)
2018-19 30 NHL (30/82)
2019-20 55 NHL (55/70)
2020-21 3 NHL (3/56)

Kase has missed 15+ games a season over the past 5 years. He's 25. Don't know why, just know that he's not going to be skating often enough to provide the impact we're looking for.

Can you imagine Jumbo Joe finally winning a cup, and it's with the Blues? I've never hated the guy, but I hate the media ass kissing he gets every time he gets past the first round. Would love that fawning to come the Blues' way, and I would really love Sharks fans having to see their franchise's icon lifting a cup in a Blue note.

One will sign for around 1M. The other 5.5M.

Big difference in taking a flyer on a skilled guy at that price.

Kase has played 88/208 games over the past 3 seasons. That's 42% of the games. Extend that to the past 5 and it's 207/372 for 56%.

Moreover, on a rebuilding Ducks squad while relatively "healthy" from 2016-2020 before he was traded to BOS Kase failed to establish himself as a reliable top 6 winger. He doesn't play a bottom 6 game. I foresee him being Sanford 2.0, from a few years back where he was unable to stay on his feet - in addition to being made of glass...

I don't see the value in a flyer on a guy that I expect to dress for ~50% of our games. Even if he'd sign a deal we could bury in the minors as a 1 year prove it deal.

Comparable...and I've seen both compared to Brayden Schenn (stylistically) by different folks. But I think they each top out as 3rd-liners who can move up to the second-line for spells; but they're not top of the roster guys like Thomas and Kyrou are expected to become. Alexandrov has the more premium position as a centerman, so I'd probably rank him slightly higher than Neighbors because of it.

I thought one of Neighbors strong suits was his strength and physical style. Am I confusing him with someone else?
