Man, the way Cernak morphed into what he is now is such a TB development story. He wasn't even on the radar, and consistently had great camps. I remember HF user reports saying he stood out more than Sergachev. Then he came to the NHL and played like a 10 year vet right out of the gate.

Fun fact that some of us might not remember:, We got him for Ben Bishop, when it looked like the market for Ben had gone dry. Talk about a diamond in the rough. Ben didn't even stay in LA, yet Cernak is still here as arguably our #3, #4 at worst.

A great developmental victory for the staff. I remember watching him, Cirelli, and Raddysh in the memorial cup together for Erie and my thoughts at the time were he’s ok, solid prospect. Didn’t blow me away or anything. Looked like a stay at home kinda guy. That’s late May of 2017. And then he’s in the NHL by fall of 2018 and the rest is history.

I do hope Groulx eventually gets his shot in the NHL but in the meantime I’ve very happy to have him back in Syracuse for another season. He knows all these players. He knows our culture, our identity. It’s great to keep that alignment and continuity in our organization.

Game link?

Good thing VPNs exist for those of us outside of Tampa who still want to follow our team.

Cam MacDonald also with with nice hard checks on the shift before. That was something he has said he wanted to show the Bolts brass.
