They were. Human error is better than 8 hour replays, especially when the system isn't perfect either.I'm sorry, but this is a terrible take.

Also they're limited this season by the fact that there's just 1 broadcast providing feeds for both teams and a limited # of camera angles they're permitted to have to limit the amount of staff necessary in the stadium.

Not really sure how Yamaguchi led Japan in strikeouts when his fastball barely breaks 90 and his off speed and breaking ball are 85-86.
