Here is the updated list of available CHL overagers. Still a decent number of high scoring forwards remaining, but most of the top defenceman have signed pro contracts, and the goaltending market is really slim pickings now.

Any word on Lethbridge players transferring to other schools?

If you look at their roster, there might be a half dozen who could play for other (current) Canada West teams.
They could transfer to Trinity Western if they're particularly Christian, or Grant MacEwan, but, other than that, there's really nowhere for most of them to go.

The only problem with them going to other CW teams is that these teams are pretty well set by now. Unless there's someone who's a top-6 F or top-3 D, most teams already have a bevy of 3rd liners who they have recruited. It's gonna be tough...

Exactly. There's also the issue of academic eligibility. In Alberta, admission to Lethbridge is a clear notch below Alberta and Calgary, just above (or on par with) MRU and Grant MacEwen.
So, I don't think there's a chance any of them move unless it's to TWU, Regina, or as a Graduate student.

Most universities have much lower transfer thresholds for grades than they do admissions thresholds out of high school (if a program requires a 75% average from a high school student, it might only require about a 65% average from a current university student looking to transfer). The same student that couldn't get into U of A or Calgary out of high school could very possibly get in after a year or two of good standing at Lethbridge.

There is some truth to this, but that is program dependent. A student coming from the Faculty of Management at Lethbridge (which seems to be the most common major) is going to face some stiff competition getting into Haskayne or Alberta Business.
There would also be a cap to how many credits they can transfer, so it'd be a tough sell for a player to transfer universities unless he's in year 1 or 2 of eligibility.

Very true on all counts here: this hurts year 3-4-5 guys the most - many of them will have to decide whether to commit to another (possibly costly) year of school, versus having their hockey career ended prematurely. The further along you are in your degree, and the more specialized your program, the harder it will be to transfer.

We haven't addressed if scholarships to these players are affected? I would guess they would. So these folks would have to pay for the remainder of their education. I don't know how many on the roster are CHL players who would get the "package". I don't think Jr A has a similar package. I also don't know about the women's program other than to assume there were scholarships as well.

The school said they would honour all scholarships to those who stay.
