I made a very serious argument for telling Kessel to stay home and starting a stronger 3RW in his spot. I got half my wish, it appears.

I agree. Guaranteed 3.5m is a lot for him. He’s probably really excited. I’d have thought 2.5 maybe. 1m over two years doesn’t matter much. I’m just a tad surprised. But I don’t care. Haha. I admired his play in Dallas. Very annoying player.
