Things I could look at doing:

1. Jared Spurgeon + lesser winger for better winger + lesser D (but not TOO bad)

2. Ondrej Kase or Craig Smith for a LW.

With quite a few (actually, a lot of) misses on my targets, I am pretty okay with how my bottom six turned out in terms of upside.

Texier - Lizotte - Roy
J. Robertson - Hayton - Saarela

2W/2C - 2.5C - 2W/3C
2/3W - 1.5C - 2/3W

> hates drafting ryan ellis
> gets a redo
> drafts spurgeon instead of a remaining good winger
> tries to trade spurgeon

The mistake wasn't made there it was taking Bishop round 4.

Nobody else took their goalie until round 7 or so, it seemed. But no winger round 4 was the miss.

When building a team it is of the utmost importance that each player feels like they are special in some capacity. That can be a role they play, a letter on their jersey, or something completely different. For our team we wanted to take it a step further and show each player that they were the only one we had our eyes on.

For this Seattle team I only picked one player from each draft class. While that only left me with 25 classes to pick from, some players that are very old, and a couple that might be to young it was important for us to keep that promise. Also, no undrafted players we don’t have any room for plugs. Without further ado, your 2020/21 Seattle Kraken

PK2: Fowler/Miller/Lindholm/Pitlick (Compher/Granlund on the fly)

Cap Hit (68,677,500)
Cap (Restriction) 80,000,000

  • Top six is strong--can see 170 goals from those 6 players (though Granlund struggled in NSH like seemingly all the forwards on the top 2 lines, he was on pace for 23 goals)
  • Every top six forward has received Selke votes at least once (Lindholm and Oshie twice)
  • Sam Steel should excel in 7-game series as he has been a playoff standout at every previous level
  • 4th line is physical and has surprising scoring potential. Glendening is another forward with Selke votes in two seasons and is near the top of the league every year in faceoff %.
  • D is average and lacks wow factor (though Boqvist could provide some this coming season), but has good balance.
  • Power play should be well above average
  • PK--team actually has too many options. Seven forwards with strong PK experience/performance.
The restriction (any guesses) will also be a decent advantage in all series.
