I can still see taffoli coming here even though I think he's super over rated and will get overpaid. He has California ties, is already used to the taxes and travel.

I found three UFA right-handed forwards who appeared to be good at zone entries over the last four years, using Corey Sznajder's data:

Kyle Turris - 57.5% carry-in percentage, 20.74 entries per 60.
Craig Smith - 62.5% carry-in percentage, 15.05 entries per 60.
Tyler Toffoli - However, while he performed well in Vancouver he was terrible in Los Angeles (33.3% carry-in percentage in LA, versus 58.5% in Vancouver).

There are also a number of left-handed forwards - Dadonov, Duclair, Ennis, Soderberg, Namestnikov, Athanasiou, Cousins, Wallmark
Well most of those guys are the ones we already wanted funny enough. Wallmark is an interesting one if Jumbo moves on

Who are some RW that thrive at zone entries? Trying to predict tomorrow and based on the buzzwords from this week at the draft it appears that’s the organizations big criteria right now. Haven’t been able to find a site that has that sort of stuff on it.

Big data dump of ufas, sharks for comparison, and potential trades.

Hinostroza and Duclair have some good entries with scoring chances. Id be interested in both

Rumored that Duclair is asking for 5M AAV though. Seems too much for what he brings.
5m is too much for Duclair, maybe 3-4m tops. He's way too inconsistent for that. I figured he wants to cash in on his break out year.

Hinostroza is more of a 3rd liner, I'd prefer we go after a true top 6. If we get a top 6 and he comes cheap enough I'd be fine signing him as depth, but someone will probably pay him too much.

Regarding Duclair, it seems he is without an agent and is representing himself. Do your magic, DW!!

Sadly what I expected as well. Dont think we spend to the cap unless Labancs deal is more in the 4 mil range than the 3
Doug Wilson has mentioned we will be spending to the cap but has clarified, as he always does, that he doesn't necessarily need to do it right away. Labanc isn't getting 4m, his stats were worse last season and his comps are in the 2.5-3.5m range. He'll probably get around 3m or less. The problem is more that the players that would help us most might want 6m or over, Toffoli/Dadonov/etc. It would probably make more cap sense to make a trade unless we can find a team friendly deal in ufa.

Thought as much. Just not enough cap space to do much. But if we should have a bit of cap space at the TDL to do something if we want to add for a run or maybe take on a contract to get an asset.
We have enough space to do something. It would be silly to go into the season with our only addition to the forward core being Donato. The schedule is going to be condensed, we need depth.

I would be pretty sad if Jumbo did do that. Im okay with him coming and us dealing him at the deadline if we suck, but Id like to see him in a sharks jersey just one more time

Agreed, without a solid top 6 acquisition we are a middle of the pack at best squad. Our greatest need coming into this off-season was forward talent, everyone and their mother knew that. I don't believe for a second that DW is done with just the Donato acquisition.
