G.T.A.
Tierney and the Isles 1st rounder will be packaged for a top 6 forward from a team that is in cap hell.

It's a good idea but maybe a solid vet on the blueline instead?

Some suggestions:
Goligoski 34 yrs old 5.4M
Lindell 26 yrs old 5.8M
Ghost (flyers) 27 yrs. old 4.5M
Justin Faulk 28 y.o. 6.5M

We could probably get one of these d-men for just Tierney.

Goligoski is too old. Lindell and Faulk get paid too much. Gostisbehere is worth considering; but at 5’11” and 180 lbs, he is a bit small for D. He does have 3 years left at $4.5M per Cap hit, ( 2020-21 Salary $3.25; 2021-22 $2.25 Bonus + $1M Salary; 2022-23 $2.25 Bonus + $1M salary).

I like your lineup but Brannstrom will be in the lineup and especially before Englund and Thomson and Jaros as well considering how DJ didnt seem to like him.

You're probably right, I don't think he will work out though.

We have a pretty mature, seasoned group of prospects. Up front we have

Brown
Batherson
Norris
Formenton
Abramov
Balcers

I would argue that for every one of them, this upcoming season is critical to their future

There's 492 potential games played for that group. Any projection of our lineup in 2020-21 has to deal with how this group matures. It also has to deal with 3 and 5 which is another potential 164 games.

I believe this group of 6 needs to collectively play half of those 492 at a minimum. I think the most likely of the 3 to provide those games are Batherson, Formenton and Norris. The other 3 may well find themselves considered no longer prospects if this year doesn't go well for them.

And then you have Brannstrom. 110 games in the AHL and NHL combined. In my view, if he doesn't play full time in the NHL this upcoming season then he and his upside aren't what we were sold

If we are honest with these players you are quite on point with your thoughts. Given a shortened season, I suspect Dorion will look to play the existing contracts (no trades or buyouts) which takes up places on the 23 roster. Dorion may try to position the Sens for another high draft pick if he can do this. given that we have 4 or more guys who can play the centre position, it really could affect Norris, Brown and Chlapik, never mind Byfield/Stuetzle and maybe Rossi.
Given the shorter season (pro-rated contracts?? so buyouts are less??) I’d be hopeful to see the youth get the time right off the hop. Let’s see these guys in an NHL situation for a good look to see what is actually there. Norris, Byfield/Stuetzle/Rossi, Brown, Chlapik should be given their chance. Tierney is a trade chip if this is the case, as is Anisimov. Not sure where Peca ends up but Belleville is an option.

Why does everyone think Sabourin is coming back ? Any info suggesting PD wants to sign him? Injury aside I don’t think he provided much value and I sorta assumed the Sens could find a player better suited for that roll.

I think one huge positive this year is the amount of "bad salary" coming off our books.

Boedker ($3M) (f***ing hoff trade)
Peca ($1.3M)
Sabourin ($700k)
Hainsey ($3.5M)
Andy($4M)
Burrows ($830K)

There's about $13M in the players listed above. About half of this will be immediately eaten up by Chabot's new contract kicking in, and the rest might get eaten up by contracts for Tierney, Duclair, or the forthcoming White buyout.

But that's before you take into account all the cash saved on Stone, Duchene, etc.

Compared to real spending at the beginning of last season, the Eug is absolutely swimming in cash right now. I don't expect him to spend it on any big name acquisitions, but he should have more than a few bucks available for Brady and other signings that need to happen soon.

I agree he was wayyy more cash available... Buy he still may not break even let alone make $10 million or whatever.
