Robertson looks well on his way to becoming a top 6 LW who could play alongside Matthews or Tavares. Hopefully this Amirov kid can develop and become another option there as well.

Probably the most potential of any player left. Strong but not big, good work ethic and motor with a high IQ. Standard Dubas pick IMO.

Schneider was practically molded to fit the hole in our roster, and they skipped him for the player they felt was BPA. I respect that.
Not like Amirov was an off the board pick, he was ranked ~14-15.
It's just not who we thought

A part of me is wait and see how this pick turns out and another part feels like punching Dubas' face in. This is no easy task and it is a crap shoot since there are NO guarantees when you draft a player. I just have to hope that it was the right call and that things will be done during free agency to improve this team

Oiler fans had him at their pick and he’s a skilled guy who models himself after Auston Matthews and Nikita Kucherov. I don’t know if that’s a style comparison more than a comment about his upside but I suppose the upside was something Toronto couldn’t pass up on.
