Sorry if this has been asked before, but are there any NY/NJ Draft events or parties? I know some folks talked about possibly going to SteveToddlves bar... Is there something at the Rock?

Draft Festival at Championship Plaza right outside the Rock. You'll need tickets though, I don't have the link right now but look around. They're free.

I think the "tickets" are a way for them to collect your address, phone number, email information, rather than it legitimately being a ticketed event. I doubt they'll turn folks away.

Yah, I figured as much. These "banner series" they have been doing are basically the equivalent of a timeshare presentation.

Betting odds in my location are paying 0.3 to 1 if Hughes is drafted first overall.

Easiest 30% return I'll ever make.

(Don't worry, I only put down $10 bucks :D )

Is it me or is anyone else hoping he takes #69 because...well because...HAHAHA

And it's going to be Hughes because Lose for Hughes had a better ring to it then Take a Crappo for Kakko

Draft party opens at 6 for STH and 6:30 for GA. Pissed off we don't get a voucher for a free beer like they did when we drafted Nico, but they said Schneider, Greene, Blackwood, Rooney, Danyeko and others will be there so it should be a fun time.

The hardest part of today is picking out what I will pour a glass of when we pick Hughes.

The choices are an Irish single pot aged in Lustau barrels, stout-aged Jameson, limoncello I just received as a gift from friends visiting Italy, chianti a different friend brought me back from Italy, a cabernet somethingoranother I got at an upstate vineyard, or go full in to a gin and tonic.

Harder choice than who we pick first.

Hughes is Jewish so I'm having Manishewitz at Shabbat dinner tonight.

You'd think an occasion like this would warrant you breaking out the top shelf stuff like Mad Dog 20-20 or Thunderbird.

I saw someone on here a couple weeks ago mention some kind of info he had or rumor that Hughes was wanting to go with #86. Seems him and his brothers rotate between 43 and 6 constantly, which I would bet were the #s their parents wore playing hockey. 86 maybe a way to represent both? (double 43 and also includes 6)

You need to eat liver before having chianti.

Anthony Hopkins said so. :naughty:
