5-136 Juuso Parssinen - C - Tps Juniors - 6'2" - 203, shoots left
5-138 Ryder Donovan - C - Duluth East - 6'3" - 184, shoots right

I had a number of guidelines or things I wanted to accomplish in the draft. Having 10 picks helped in this regard.
- I wanted a reasonable balance of prospect positions. I think if you stick with this year in and year out you have a better chance of an evenly built team instead of having an overload of prospects in one position (see the oilers). I ended up with 3 defenseman, 3 wingers, 3 centers and 1 goalie. (I think a team should take a goalie in almost every draft due to the nature of the position.)
- I wanted size. You can't teach size. Obviously if you have a super talented player who is not big you still draft that player however when I was making my prospect lists as my pick was approaching size was a factor if prospects were close. The only player under 6'2" that I drafted was Mikko Kokkonen and he is 5'11" and a solid 200 pounds.
- Shooting hand. I hoped to have a reasonable distribution of shooting sides. Right hand shots are often mentioned regarding d-men but imo it is a factor for forwards as well. I ended up with 5 right shots and 4 left shots for position players.
-My draft looks rather Euro centric but that was not by particular design, it just happened that in most cases the player I favoured when my pick rolled around was euro.
I love how teams put out candid videos of the process and this is the garbage the Habs put out. Why even bother.
If hes there at 30 you better work the phone to move the f*** up. Thats another Aho/Kuxnetsov situation. If Dorofeyev is there at 46, just select him with a smile.
Im partial to the hawks, look two pages back I posted a nice video.Better than nothing but ya, the Canucks do the best ones.

Lavoie says his natural position is at RW. Says he's working on being more explosive and that Ryan Getzlaf is the player he's trying to emulate
He has his flaws for sure but there are not many natural scorers like him mid 1st round. It's for sure a boom/bust pick.Kaliyev no please
Imagine trying to emulate one of the most physically imposing players of the modern era and you end up playing like Pacioretty.I try to emulate Getzlaf too but I suck.

Bouchard is probably aware of this alreadyInside from somebody in the Armada surroundings....do not touch Bolduc. Kid has ALL the tools. But he just doesn't care that much. If a team is able to make him care...then fine. Do we really know somebody who has that ability? To make some people go from not caring to totally caring? If Bouchard is a guy like that...fine pick him. But first instinct is to not touch him....
Fagemo, Struthers and Bergeron the rest arent worthyWho are the interesting overagers? Matej blumel? Justin bergeron? Ronald Attard? Mark Kastelic? Jonathan Yantsis?
Yeah, miles ahead. I've heard that Morin just isn't that smart even outside of hockey, but I can't attest for myself as I haven't spoken to him personally.
I agree with this take. If it turns out that there is relatively little disparity between defensemen we can get in the first round and those we might expect to fall to us in the second, like Kolyachonok or Lacombe, and I suspect more of a gradient from 1 to 2 among forwards, the Habs need to consider top talents like Kaliyev very carefully. Possibly also Krebs, if his Achilles partial tear turns out to be fairly treatable (bringing to bear the best Achilles orthopedic specialists), Newhook if he falls too, or even Tomasino. He has his flaws for sure but there are not many natural scorers like him mid 1st round. It's for sure a boom/bust pick.

A part of the problem is that he love Baseball and he is a really good player.
Understandable, there’s way more money in baseball. People balking at Hayes’ contract, well $7m is what an okay reliever makes.
Dude, you try and make the Schlieffen plan work with crazy Kaiser Wilhelm breathing on your neck the whole time! That thing was doomed to fail from the get go, he did the best he could.Imagine emulating Alexander the Great but you end up as Von Moltke
