So no Farabee in the opening lineup. Disappointing, but not shocking. He needs a little more work.

No Myers isn’t a surprise at all. He played himself out of a spot.

Good for Morin. Not sure how they’ll rotate the D.

The board will melt down because hatred for Hagg is prioritized over all else.

Claude Giroux is perhaps the only thing that saved this franchise from bottom 5 finishes. He's one of the elite LWs in hockey. Couturier is a Selke-caliber 1C. Their names are beyond reproach.

Ghost and Couturier have only been core players under 1 coach in Hakstol and are on steals of contracts. Why is Ghost, a player oft used as a PP specialist, suddenly our core player and not our 1D Provorov, here for the same time? I think we all know Jake is most expendable. But even then it's likely selling off a good but flawed player for pennies on the dollar, which actually hurts your product and makes you feel good for about a week that they DID SOMETHING. Did that something help? Doesn't matter.

You have a much easier case to make that this organization failed its best players the last decade, not the reverse. That's where the finger should be pointed first. Cycling through mediocre hires doesn't change that. Many teams have failed or succeeded because they did or didn't make hasty decisions regarding their few good players.

Things haven’t really changed & remains the same until now that we essentially did a half ass rebuild & didn’t give ourselves the best chances to succeed either way. We basically pissed these guys best seasons away while they drug us to no man’s land (mediocrity). They were too good to have us in the running for high picks (sans a lucky lottery win that isn’t exactly panning out for us now) & not good enough to drag the dreck into that next tier of good teams.

We’ve always risked the chance of their time line not matching up with the rebuild’s time line. As good as our prospect pool is it’s based depth & not high end talent. We always ran the risk of not having suitable replacements for these guys.

Fletcher & AV are essentially continuing what Hextall & Hakstol did in offering up really no meaningful solutions to improve this roster. We’re dressing inferior players still because of roles & we’re acquiring washed up players because they were once good years ago even though legit warning signs of serious decline.

So here we are essentially continuing to tread water.

I guess you live in a freaking bubble and don't watch sports outside of this city. This is what happens in sports after firing enough management eventually the finger points at the players who've been there a long time. It and free agency is why players rarely play their whole career in one city anymore. I've dealt with favorite players being the player shipped out. Sucks as a fan but it's business. They aren't firing Fletcher or AV for at least 3 seasons and I think they are done with the fringe of the roster except when kids are ready. So where else is the move happening?

As Magua said G and Coots are beyond reproach....

Can you actually give examples of this happening? I'm sure it might have happened but I can't think of any players who survived multiple coaches/GMs and then finally the team said, "Hey, this guy is the problem."

Like should Vancouver have shipped the Sedins out? Washington kept Ovi through countless failures.

So you know I'm not a fan of so many of these decisions, but I don't think I can say they're incompetent. I think they're both still pretty average. It's just that the average competency level is low.
Oh right, I clarified this yesterday but I'll also do it again here.

>99% of coaches and GMs are f***ing idiots. I'm not singling these two out as drastically worse than everyone else, as if no others do stupid stuff too. But they absolutely are idiots, based on these indefensible decisions.

Hagg can singlehandedly lose games in a way no other dman on this roster can. He is not, and has never been, NHL caliber.

Do you think losing is good, or do you think it is bad? If you dislike losing, you should dislike Hagg getting ice time for no reason.

I am fine with letting Farabee slide another year. Not ok with the d roster but it was always going to be a disaster with the numbers game. On merit T war and B unny should have made the team , Morin as well. WE need to shed 2 dmen and find a way to get frost and Patrick on this roster.... good f***ing luck fletchy.

I think You & others DRASTICALLY overexaggerate Hagg as a guy who allegedly loses games “singlehandedly.”
