The one about offering a PTO to “someone who can at least move?”

Like who else who was on PTO? Matt Read? Zac Rinaldo? AMac?

And Stewart can move. His skating isn’t nearly as bad as some make it out to be.

He’s not a goon. He had 10 goals in 54 games just 2 years ago. And he does offer size which is something they’re deficient in. So for a wildcard spare PTO option, it made sense. The fuss about it is ridiculously overblown. Some people just have a strong bias against big, physical players.

Keeping Stewart around as an absolute emergency option does make sense, especially on a Europe trip. I just hope they never have to resort to using him or use him when there are other options available.

To visualize what I'm saying...

If Frost is NOT able to play we should have:

JVR-Laughton-Farabee
Raffl-Bunnaman-Twar/Pitlick

If Frost is able to play we should have:
JVR-Frost-Farabee
Raffl-Laughton-Twar/Pitlick

Those are the best possible bottom 6's... and instead we have this abomination...
JVR-Laughton-Twarynski
Raffl-Bunnaman-Pitlick (assuming he's able to play)

And that's not bashing Bunnaman. It's just that we don't have any reason to believe that he's a better C than either Frost or Laughton right now.
