To be fair, we jumped out to a 4-0 lead and just sat on it for the rest of the game. The team losing usually has a lot more urgency to try and crawl back.

But as covered in the game thread there are the score effects of teams sitting back and then there is bad defense. The Canucks once they went up 3-0 sat back as teams do (the general score effect) and spent the next 25+ minutes putting on a demonstration of how not to play team defense.

Tonight's results were pretty damn good as far as tank nights go. If Vegas had managed to beat the Islanders, it pretty much would have been a perfect night.

Every single western conference team in action tonight got at least one point.

Will be an interesting game. Accessing all of Buffalo's young talent. We do sometimes make trades with them. :)

Funny for how the media likes to talk about what a great job Benning and the Canucks are doing you never hear the same thing about Buffalo who are pretty similar:

(mixing youth, long term contracts, and prospects)
Eichel, Dahlin, Reinhart, Olofsson, Skinner, Mittlestadt, Ristolainen, Jokiharju, Cozens
VS
Pettersson, Hughes, Horvat, Boeser, Miller, Gaudette, Myers, Demko, Podkolzin

There wasn't much of interest on the out-of-town scoreboard tonight, but the Calgary OT win vs Colorado was the perfect result in that game.

The link you just posted shows Vancouver to have a better winning percentage, more regulation wins in fewer games, and a substantially better goal differential. Not sure what you're getting at here.
5 on 5 Buffalo has scored 65 goals and allowed 55 goals. Good enough for the 7th best ratio in the league.

5 on 5 Vancouver has 60 goals and has allowed 57 goals, good enough for 14th in the league.

This is a win/win either the Canucks comeback in an epic win and piss off Toronto media fanboys or they lose and stay in course.

I just hope it’s goals by guys like Boeser, Petey instead of the plugs
