So 18 year old NHL rookies can make over 3 million dollars in their first year yet Blake Snell wins the cy young and gets his contract reviewed for $573,300 in a much higher revenue generating league. Useless players association.

MLB draft picks typically aren't ready to play right away, save for the Chris Sales of the league. NHL picks, usually the higher ones can sometimes play right away or a year after they ere drafted.

Exactly, baseball players get to the majors way older and make 1/6 what an 18 year old hockey player makes even if they perform at an all star level.

That's because the MLBPA ignored the young players for decades and went hard core on the established players only. I could not care less if Harper or Machado signed for $300M instead of $400M, those are stupid contracts that shouldn't be paid. What's not right though is dicking around players in the minors and not bringing them up for years to put off the free agency clock, and then controlling them for so many years in the majors at way below market salaries. Spread the money around, it's better for everyone

And while you are spreading the money around include minor leagues too. Minor leaguers should be getting paid more.

They should, but more importantly IMO there should be minor league free agency. If a team does not promote the player to a higher level after, say, 2 years, that player should have the right to sign a 2-year deal with any other team if they so choose

He's not very good but minor deal? That's strange.
I figured CarGo would be in for another rough trip through free agency, but I figured he would still get a guaranteed deal for a few million. He is nothing near what he used to be and his splits are fairly drastic both in terms of home/away and right/left.

I hope CarGo can manage to succeed in Cleveland, but unfortunately at this point I am not convinced that he is anything but an average platoon bat.

The Indians add some ? in their outfield so signing Cargo makes some sense. Could be a good bat to have for them.

I think it's a low risk move. They currently have Tyler Naquin in right field, but he has minor league options left. CarGo is a negative on defense at this stage of his career, but they could roll out something like this:

C- Roberto Perez
1B- Carlos Santana
2B- Jason Kipnis
3B- Jose Ramirez
SS- Francisco Lindor
LF- Jake Bauers
CF- Leonys Martin
RF- Carlos Gonzalez
DH- Hanley Ramirez
