I'm gonna say if they can even go 5-5 in the next 10 that should be good enough to get in. Looking at realistic records and point totals for the teams immediately behind them, 90 points seems like it will be plenty.

Quite a few of the teams chasing us also still play each other sometimes multiple times. 5-6 Wins should be enough to get in . Ideally of course i want to win every game and still get a divisional seed . Nashville would be a very attractive matchup especially with the winter classic coming up.

Agreed, that would be best. Not only would the Stars have a better chance against them than against Winnipeg but, yes, it would also set up a fantastic Winter Classic next year. I’m guessing the NHL will be rooting for this scenario as well.

Magic number update

The most any non playoff team can get is 94 points (Avs and Hawks) we are sitting pretty with ROW so to finish with 94 points we need to go 6-3 in our final 9

But seriously, I'm not even gonna play a win this game, lose this one, etc. if not just for jinxing- but also for the fact that Dallas could lose to any of the remaining teams and I wouldn't really be surprised. Except maybe Edmonton.

At the Stars practice and they just did at least 30 2 on 1 chances and 3 on 2 chances to practice. They scored on just 1 of them and it was Hintz

Yikes

You forgot to mention they were shooting with the knob end of their stick....right?

I actually didn't even mention the worst part....quite a few of them lost control of the puck as they came in. Janmark did that nearly every time, and Comeau a couple of times as well.

Also, I finally had something for Zuccarello to sign at practice this time around

Missing playoffs by one point.

Calling it

Betting sites say playoff chance for the Stars is more then 90%, and 70% chance they'll play Winnipeg in round 1.

Ugh...that's a hard nut to crack. Big test against them next week.

I don't hate starting Khudobin if Bishop isn't 100% healthy with the roadtrip coming up. Maybe there's also some career stats that say Bishop is bad against the Pens not sure.

The team does need to perform better infront of Khudobin though

Not sure i get why its Dowling over Gurianov but ok i guess. Hope that means both Spezza AND Ritchie sit.

Someone sick or minor injury?

Its not an emergency callup so no. I think its because that 4th line was so awful with Ritchie and Spezza on it and they can't scratch both without a callup. At least thats what i hope.
