Danton Heinen, who recently moved into Pastrnak’s spot on the No. 1 line, will be there Tuesday night again when the Bruins face the Blackhawks at the Garden. He will line up with Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron.
The No. 2 line, centered by David Krejci, will be filled out by wingers Peter Cehlarik and Jake DeBrusk.
“I found out yesterday morning, and it’s disappointing,” said coach Bruce Cassidy, asked about his response to Pastrnak’s injury. “He’s one of our better players — and I am sure David feels terrible about it, at least that’s what I’ve been told by Donny. But after the disappointment moves along, it’s a challenge. I mean, we are taking our leading scorer out of the lineup and we’ve been struggling to create enough offense as it is. Now you’re going to the drawing board and ask, ‘OK, what’s the best way to go about this in terms of replacing his production?”

Cassidy added that the club will reach down to AHL Providence to add a forward for the upcoming five-game road trip.
David Backes, a healthy scratch on Sunday, will return to the lineup against the Hawks, riding on a line with Joakim Nordstrom and Trent Fredric.

There seems to be sort of a disconnect between Cassidy and Sweeney.... Iam sure Sweeney does not like hearing this type of whinning, from his coach out of all people

Cassidy is not holding back at all is he (desparate need for offense)

Called the lines this morning when I was texting Dan and Lou (not that there are a ton of options )

I would put JDB on the left and Cehlarik on the right, as he has seemed comfortable there in the past:

74-46-22

52-55-14

I think DeBrusk gets one tonight.

Also, I didn't think Cassidy was being whiny at all? I am disappointed Pasta is hurt too.

It's gonna change the look of the first PP unit drastically. You'd think you could just slide Krejci in as a RH shot but he's a completely different player than Pasta.

yup, good call. i wonder if they use krejci as the QB on the half-wall, and have krug and marchand flying
around looking for one-timers while bergy remains in that danger spot in the middle. before pasta became
the alpha dog on the PP, it was krug who would just let it rip from everywhere.

I'd keep Cehlarik with Krejci and put Nordstrom in on Coyle's left until they (hopefully) pick up a RW. Crazy how Backes has become the definite option to sit.

I bet Donny is praying Backes production will increase if playing with Coyle

Could see Kuhlman staying in for one more game since if they do pick a rw he’d be the one sent down. Plus he had a couple solid games in Cehlarik’s absence.

Anyone wonder if Studnicka could get a look on the #3 line once his season is over?

Assuming no other moves:

Marchand - Bergeron - Heinen
DeBrusk - Krejci - Pastrnak
Cehlarik - Coyle - Studnicka
Kuraly - Backes - Wagner

Could be a good way to get the kids feet wet and with how he's playing this season, his confidence is sky high.

I personally don't. I think he goes right to Providence.

One thing I wonder if Bruins do on occassion is have a shootout competition

They should do this at least once a month to determine who goes 1st etc in real games

Cassidy changes the order/players everytime

Mcavoy for example is like 3 for 6. I dont understand why he doesnt let him shoot

Marchand, Bergeron, Krejci, Heinen.... I dont remember any of these guys scoring in SO before. Debrusk and Pasta yes... though not consistently... I believe Kuraly also has one

Mcavoy, Coyle, Backes should definitely get opportunities.... do the SO competition Cass and rank em

Bruce has a lot of options, you have to see what works and what doesn't.

Assuming we should keep the 4th line together, I think the biggest question is who is the wing on the third line: Cehlarik, Nordy, Backes, Kuhlman, Frederic, or Stempniak

I suppose they should try them out and see who has the best chemistry with Coyle and Johansson.
