I hope the Penguins do a yellow alternate.

Based on the positive response from the Stadium Series jersey, I think you will be correct. My guess is the yellow alternate will be a replica of the early 80s version.

Wondering if this could be the template for a new Oilers third. New, darker colours, and no shoulder yoke like the 2000s era sweaters.

The Canucks have no stable franchise identity...

Blah blah blah. Yadda yadda.

We've had the Orca for like 22 years. That's our identity and I dont see it changing.

I like honoring our uniform history with the 3rd jerseys. Just because other franchises haven't changed their jersey in over 100 years doesnt mean others cant. More that one way to skin a cat.

I hate it. It looks like a hoodie.

I can’t find the picture, but take the current Oilers uniform, swap the Orange and Navy around, and you have a great looking jersey.

I’d rather not go back to the royal blues. Do something new.

That Canes jersey is hideous. I guess Ron Francis was busy for all of those years designing the worst third jersey in the league and not making trades. That looks like a knock off jersey of the Coyotes.

It doesn’t look like a knockoff of anything. It looks like the same alternate they’ve used for 10 years, plus shoulder piping.

That said, the image is just a guess based on a few vague swatches of fabric on a teaser film, so probably not entirely accurate.

That's probably because it is a kids jersey. FYI this is for sale on the Adidas website.

I am not suggesting this would be it, but it could be a little peak into where the design was/is headed. It's basically what you're describing, minus the shoulder yoke...

I’d have to think the Blues’ third will be the Winter Classic set they had two years ago.

Did you see the Coyotes'?

The Oilers' "EOi" is strange too, that lowercase really bent my brain.

LOL, Islanders too and that's their actual first initial in the word.

Why would Winnipeg bring back an old Arizona franchise jersey?[/QUOTE
Selänne never played a shift for the Coyotees.. and it would be freaking awsome to see A Winnipeg Jets Team playing in Winnipeg in the same Jersey that was worn in 1996 when the team was ripped away from a city that truly cared about them... also the Selänne White Jersey is friggin spectacular.

Yes, it's a blatant money-grab.

I love bringing back stuff from the past, but not when you retire it for a couple of years, just to bring it back. It was quite obvious the moment they went with the orange.

Or maybe they, like many other teams, were forced by Adidas (like Reebok before) to go from 3 sweaters for 2 for a short period? How dare they sell merchandise to fans!!!

Adidas did not force them to use an accent color as the primary color of their home jersey. I'd imagine that within a few years, they will return to the setup of '16-17.

Also, I'm not against money grabs as long as they're less obvious. I have one of them '01-07 Oiler 3rds, and friggin' love it
