Alexei Lipanov signed with Barrie in the OHL. He'll very likely play with Andrei Svechnikov (expected top pick in the Import Draft & quite possibly the #1 in next year's NHL draft) there next year.

We already have Nizhnikov...should make for an exciting top line.

Nothing significant has gotten out under Hextall. Nothing.

That last part is why I am a bit hesitant to believe it but just knowing he has been right numerous times this year albeit other teams makes it a bit interesting

Guy has no rep for breaking Flyers trades, decides to shoot a wild rumor out there. What's his upside/downside?

Upside is he is right, gets a LOT of new twitter followers.

Downside is he is wrong, and his credibility RE the Flyers isn't hurt at all, because he doesn't have any to start with.

If they're concerned about injuries, its valid, but I think theres just too big a gap between Patrick and the next tier for it to matter. Plus he's a teenager growing into his new body when he got injured. Once he fully matures, it likely won't matter

It was well known Hextall was trying to move Pronger and Arizona was the obvious target, but the specific trade wasn't leaked in advance.

It only hurts the Flyers stance to let everyone in the world know that the Flyers are afraid of his injuries and don't wanna take him. It takes away from their leverage.

Right that they wanted a really good pass rusher? Listen to BGN, they were saying that for months. Most people didn't think Barnett would even fall to the Eagles.
