Looks OK. Fairly confident that Faulk would be there over one of Greene or EJ though.

Do either Jason Zucker or Charlie Coyle, after his world championships play, have a chance? Zucker scored 21 goals in 55 games this past season.

So when is the cutoff date for U23?

Connor Hellebuyck just turned 22. By the time of the tourney, he will be 23. If they do it by year (born 1993 or later), Helle will be the U23 starting goalie.

John Gibson did what Hellebuyck did this year in 2013 while 2 years younger. Don't think anyone is beating him out

People *****ing that it isn't "Best on Best" need to look at this from a developmental standpoint. This is clearly to get extra set of eyes on young players who might play in the next Olympics.

As long as Burke is not involved Ryan is on team USA.

No way is Kessel left off the US World Cup team or the next Olympics.

OK. I just don't like them in the top 9. They don't replace any of the wingers imo.

On the 4th line/extras, Callahan and Oshie for example almost match them offensively and are good two-way players with an edge. Seems like they would be more useful than Ryan and Kessel, who were both pretty bad for long stretches this year.

Kesler is there as the 5th centre, almost can't take him off plus he's a big game player.

I just don't see the room. Can't include everyone. It's not a bad thing to leave off players of this caliber; just speaks to how good your team is.

Callahan and Dubinsky have little chance if any at this team...too much depth going around. Much rather list Kreider over both of them for his size and speed..

Bobby Ryan should be there as well...I would take him over Okposo personally but as you said you can't take everyone and there will be tough choices big time for this team.

And no chance in hell Kessel is left off...none.

And that pathetic rat Bettman had the gall to stand up and claim that this travesty of a tournament will be "best on best," while announcing that two teams (USA, Canada) are to be sabotaged by the U23 and two others (Slovakia, Switzerland) won't even be there.

This isn't even an international tournament, never mind the "best".
I couldn't agree more. This tournament is a total joke. I also can't believe how arrogant and shortsighted the NHL is by snubbing Slovakia, Switzerland and other small European hockey countries. How the heck are you going to grow the sport if you're going to be so dismissive towards potential future fans? I am fuming :madfire: and I'm not even European. Why couldn't they simply continue like the old Canada Cup/World Cup format? What is the reasoning for such stupidity?!

This is a strong team, and reasonably close to how I think it will shape up. I'd move Shattenkirk up in the depth chart, and probably replace Foligno with Kreider. The American team will be strong on the NHL-sized ice.
