We both start calling our own countries athlete the "fastest man in the world" at the same time, then realized the neighbour across the border was saying the same thing for their guy. That started a big schoolyard like shouting match that could only be resolved by having the two athletes hold their own special 150M... which didn't solve anything because Johnson injured himself halfway through it and pulled out

This is even born out by studies that show that the peak speed in the 100M is higher than in the 200M (even though the average speed is higher in the 200M since you don't have to waste as much time in the start).


It was an entirely dickish move to suddenly try to change that in order to claim the title.

Bronze for Lamaze in equestrian. Kinda heartbreaking...he was 1st after the semi-final, 1st after the finals, but in a 6-way jumpoff he had 1 fault (fastest time) and that dropped him to 3rd.
