One thing -- it's the fourth round -- this is where you take chances.

High Hockey IQ seems to be the trend. Hard to argue with that.
Plus, we all get to watch him with the Marlies immediately.
Watch him push for PPG next season. hahaha.

I guess they need to make room for him in the AHL next year? He's basically a kid from the Nylander draft.

NHL player factory
Watched him a lot the last 3 years. He has taken his game to another level and is a late bloomer. He will be an NHL player and the scout who recommended him knows a little about the Pats.

Great pick Dirk!

Wow the leafs are going to have alot of kids from 1996 and 1997.
Looks like they are going for fairly proven (though late blooming) players for their later picks which is fine with me.

38 goals, next closest on the team had 28.

82 assists, next closest on the team had 47.

50 points ahead of the team's second highest scorer.

Obviously can't judge a guy on stats alone, but holy crap.

I like his Elite Prospect's bio...
2010/11 team - Winnipeg Hawks Bantam AAA Div. 1. Scored 53 goals and had 37 assists for 90 points in 30 games; the most in Winnipeg Bantam AAA.

So if we drafted Brooks 2 years ago (Nylander's draft) and he put up 120 points this year as a 4th round pick we would call him a steal, no?

Now we know what he did and he will go to the Marlies. Good pick imo.
