ahhhhh man! No Anaheim preseason game? There's goes my yearly tradition.

I bet Roy sends a scrub squad to Minnesota.

Regular season
http://avalanche.nhl.com/v2/ext/PDF/Schedules/2016-17 Avalanche Schedule.pdf

This is going to serve as the schedule thread. I'll edit when I'm not on my phone and when the full schedule is released.

I'm glad the Avs weren't the last to announce theirs. They mixed it up with games against the Stars and Wild. Maybe that means we won't open the season vs Wild. Also different to start in the road but hopefully the b2b and during the WC means they keep some prospects around for the home game. Will also include info if there's going to be a B/W game. Also, given what the Bruins announced camp will start on Friday 9/23, rookie camp should be similarly the early part if that week as it always is.

Usually one of those road games is the total AHL squad but the first game? That's when a lot of the real prospects are still around. Do they go on the road or wait for the home game? Plus the World Cup will leave things thin but only really the finalists will be gone the whole time.

Actually I think he should send the A squad. Get everyone in there, and try to get a win. They need to get past this mental hurdle known as Minnesota. They're totally in their heads, and every time they lose to em they end up effed mentally for like 10-20 games after.

We'll make our kids win that one.

It's tough because it's the very first game, but getting a win out of the way against Minny would do a lot for their confidence. Even if it's just pre-season. Something to think about other than the fact they can't beat them.

I'd think winning one out the two would suffice. But which one?

The last two years our game one was five days after the last preseason game. So we're looking looking sometime around October 13th. It's never too early to get excited.

Winning one in their barn is the one that will help them mentally, and that's the first one. That's where they can't seem to win no matter what. Going back to their playoff series, they're 1-7 against them in Minny, and four of those losses were shutouts.

Probably can't send the A squad the first game though. Need to rest some of the World Cup guys and get some youngsters some time.

can't wait for preseason. still a looong ways away. its the time where we pretend our chances of making the playoffs are super legit and we can overrate all of our prospects. ignorance is bliss and i miss that feeling

Safe to say that 1st game will be an automatic loss and set the ton for rest of the season where Avs get blown out by the Wild again, lose all their confidence and go downhill from then on
