Real shame for Ovi to be on the end of a dirty hit. Real shame

I thought the hit was clean. Ovi tried to jump around it and went spinning. The hip didn't look lower than Ovi's thighs. The jump caused him more problems than Kadri's hip level.

I thought it was a clean hit too. It definitely wasn't tripping, which is what it was called. The refs basically handed the series to Washington. They didn't deserve to win.

I haven't seen games from all of the playoff series, but in most of the games I've seen, the reffing's been pretty questionable.

You can sort of deal with it in the regular season, because it mostly evens out over 82 games, but it can substantially tilt a seven (or fewer) game playoff series.

It makes it difficult to be a fan when the reffing often makes the quality of the product garbage.

Also, I think the league should take a look at the automatic 2 minutes for the putting the puck over the glass. I remember why that rule was instituted (teams were purposefully putting it over to relieve pressure) and it was a problem at the time, but it's kind of ridiculous to have that called in the dying minutes of a playoff game when it's clearly an accident.

The hit on Krejci tonight was way worse, but both were clear penalties.

Shame only one of them got called

He's picked up on Emelin's dirt bag tactics realizing the league continually ignores his knee hunting expeditions. Can't beat them, join them. Nothing to lose so may as well target the more dangerous star in their line up. Imagine for a moment if Wilson had taken out Matthews the same way. The riot squad would have been summoned to escort the Caps out of town while legal proceedings are put in motion to address the injustice.

I was not a fan of the Kadri hit. I can't stand low bridge hits and players have been suspended for hits like that in the past. As well Kadri is a complete snake...his flop was embarrassing and incredible that refs continue to fall for that BS

This should be a suspension for being this blatant.

Thx was looking for this, was asking around if Kadri got an embellishment penalty for this and not one response..

NHL has allowed this for waaay too long, best time to get rid of it is when it could cost you a playoff game.

Mighty Duck movie at it's finest "take the dive"

Staal just went head first into the boards after going to the net. Didn't look good at all.

Edit - He is skating off the ice with help. That could've been a lot worse.

Looked pretty woozy and weak-legged though, so I'd imagine that's a serious concussion. Good to see him on his legs though. Does he have a history of concussions?

Just saw the Staal replay. He looked awful. I'm shocked they let him skate off. He was basically out on his feet. :(

Nasty hit into the boards.

He saw it coming and couldn't do a thing about it.

I don't mind Chicago, especially if given the choice between rooting for them or a team Subban is on.
