I'd say Hutchinson's look absolutely tiny just in general. That being said, could very well be a combination of the color and camera angle.

htey appear to go up the pants a similar distance, so I think part of it is Halak being smaller overall and the combination colors, lighting and angle

The Odins design is hideous, these just don't look good.

Yeah. Very cheap looking, in addition to just being a lame unfinished looking design in the first place. Like someone else said, definitely reminiscent of kids street hockey pads from Canadian Tire.

It's hard for me to say anything negative about my favourite mask design of all time. But man, that airbrushed in Potvin is just sorta...weird. Kinda ruins an otherwise awesome tribute for me.

I understand that it's a tribute mask, but in the top-right photo (left side of the mask), Felix Potvin's depiction isn't accurate. The equipment that he's wearing (blue and black Koho gear) was worn during the 1993-94 season, but the mask he's wearing wasn't used until the 1995-96 season. Details are important, IMO!

For the most part though, I like it!

Whoa. Johan Holmqvist is still going at it. Neat.

I think that mask pretty well highlights an issue with DaveArt masks that often seems to fly under the radar amidst the invisible wizard tech glow FX glitter sparkle mini logo stamp TM etc. That being, he often fails to really work the design around the actual mask shape and hardware itself.

Even on a very simple design concept like this...it doesn't really jive organically with the contours and lines of the mask itself, and the hardware attached. It's got holes, fasteners (and eventually straps) in weird parts of the design, things clashing into the cage and edges, awkward cropping. It just reads like a design applied to a blank generic template...transplanted onto an actual mask with little regard for how it actually works on the specific canvas.

I really like this one, but I could do without the "new dimension". You want a design fans can pick out of the stands, not something only you and your equipment manager will ever see.
