Huge win by Edmonton

That means if the Jets win the next game, they are in the playoff.

Then even if the Flames lose to the Kings, the Jets have nothing to play for in the last game. The Flames win that they make the playoff.

The Flames are in good shape at the moment.

Damn-near the best outcome we could've hoped for tonight, really. I'd rather see the Jets in and L.A. out anyways..

Insane night tonight. That Calgary game looked spotty as hell at times.

I can't believe the Oil helping the Flames out. One more win this season and we're in (more or less). This is massive.

Our magic # is 1.

This means any 2 point swing (gained for us or lost for them) between us and the Kings will clinch a playoff spot.

Have to imagine the Kings will be either a) completely deflated after losing to the Coil, or b) angry as all hell, and we had better brace ourselves for a bloodbath. I say we prepare for b) whilst hoping for a) LOL

Next game is pretty much going to be like Gaudreau going on an epic quest to destroy Doughty's cup ring by throwing it into Mount Salt.

So hypothetically, if we lose in OT to the kings and Winnipeg loses in OT/Shootout to the Avs, we're in?!?

No the 2 point swing is only about us and LA. Winnipeg doesn't matter

for example if LA beats us in regulation and on the final day both Calgary and LA lose in OT, we make the playoffs.

Need 2 points in the next 2 games. Could be 1 point per game or 2 points in a win and then loss.

2 fricking points. Unless of course we lose out and so does La (doubtful scenario)

Was curious to know, and just discovered that only four teams in the modern era have missed the playoffs a year after winning the Stanley Cup, two of whom were the Devils in 1995/1996 and the 'Canes in 2006/2007.

I just know there is a 23 waiting to happen there, but I'm not ambitious enough right now to find it

What's your excuse?
Finish them off on Thursday and we can have a big party on Saturday!

and then we can face in the second round!

YAY!

Flames and Jets were widely predicted to be lottery teams.
