CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, announced today forwards Greg Rallo, Derek Hulak and defenseman Matt Mangene, will all return to the team on AHL contracts for the 2015-16 season. Defenseman Jesse Blacker and forward Cory Kane have also joined the Stars on AHL contracts for the upcoming season.

The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, announced that goaltender Rob Madore has agreed to a two-way AHL/ECHL contract with the Toronto Marlies. Madore was named the ECHL Playoff MVP in 2014 after guiding the Cincinnati Cyclones to the Kelly Cup Finals before falling to the Alaska Aces in six games.

The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has signed forward Matt Ellis to a one-year American Hockey League contract.

Ellis, 33, appeared in 39 NHL games with the Buffalo Sabres last season, recording two points (1+1) and four penalty minutes. He also registered 13 points (7+6) in 38 AHL games with the Amerks last season. Ellis has collected 25 points (19+16) and 18 penalty minutes in 95 games over three seasons with Rochester. In 286 games with the Sabres over parts of seven seasons, the 6-foot, 208-pound Ellis has recorded 41 points (18+23) and 57 penalty minutes.

Carter Bancks Back with the Comets

Utica Comets Director of Hockey Operations Pat Conacher announced today that the club has signed forward Carter Bancks to an American Hockey League contract for the 2015-16 season.

Bancks, 25, posted 14 points (6-8-14), 44 penalty minutes, and a plus-seven rating in 57 games with the Comets last season. The Marysville, BC native had spent his entire American Hockey League career with the Abbotsford Heat prior to last season.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have signed defenseman Clark Seymour to an American Hockey League contract for the 2015-16 season.

Last season as a first-year pro, Seymour ranking first among team defensemen with 14 assists, while notching one goal and 72 penalty minutes over 54 games with Wheeling. The native of Brockville, Ontario also appeared in 12 contests for the Penguins during the 2014-15 season, posting one assist.

DES MOINES, IA –The Iowa Wild on Monday announced the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed forward Matt Carey to an AHL Standard Player Contract (SPC) for the 2015-16 season.

Carey, 23 (2/28/92), joins the Wild after spending the 2014-15 season with the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs. The rookie forward scored ten goals and added 11 assists for 21 points in 67 games played. He enjoyed success against Iowa last year, scoring two goals and adding three assists for five points in six games versus the Wild. The Hamilton, ON native made his NHL debut for the Chicago Blackhawks on March 28, 2014 against the Ottawa Senators. Carey scored his first NHL goal in his second NHL game, beating Pekka Rinne of the Nashville Predators.

Hamilton, 24, recorded 15 points (5-10-15) and 27 penalty minutes in 41 regular season games for the Comets during the 2014-15 season. In the playoffs he posted four points (2-2-4) and 25 penalty minutes in 22 games. In 216 career AHL games, between Utica and Binghamton, the Cochrane, Alberta native has 54 points (18-36-54) and 184 penalty minutes.

The Portland Pirates, AHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers, today announced the signing of defenseman Yann Sauve to a one-year AHL contract for the 2015-16 season.

The 6-foot-3, 218 pound defenseman from Rigaud, Quebec, played a total of 25 games in the AHL last season with three teams, combining for one goal and three assists for four points. Sauve played in 17 games for the Springfield Falcons and four games each for the St. John’s IceCaps and Providence Bruins in 2014-15.
