Most recently, the 24-year-old spent three seasons with the University of New Brunswick where he appeared in 82 career games collecting 69 points (26g-43a) with the Varsity Reds. While at UNB, Braes earned his Bachelor’s in Recreation and Sports Studies.

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today that forwards Tyler Barnes, Josh Holmstrom, Jesse Root, Andrew Rowe and Sebastien Sylvestre, along with defensemen Bryce Aneloski, Kane Lafranchise and C.J. Ludwig and goaltender Parker Milner have agreed to American Hockey League contracts.

Wow! Snow is busy... He basically sign the whole farm team in one day!

This signing, along with the signing of Zack Kamrass, was officially announced yesterday by Texas. (However, with all the things happening, I forgot to post it...)

The Chicago Wolves have signed Evan Trupp to an AHL contract.

After spending almost three entire seasons in the ECHL, Trupp delivered a breakthrough season with 40 points in 72 games as a member of the Worcester Sharks.

According to Howlings, the Wolfpack has re-signed Chad Nehring.

NHL-AHL free agency starts Wednesday and the Rangers have many roster decisions to make that will be announced.

One that Howlings can announce exclusively is that center Chad Nehring has been re-signed to a one-year AHL deal. The recently turned 28-year-old was a pivotal fourth line center who filled in on occasion on the first and second unit in part due to his strong faceoff skills. Nehring, who bounced around the ECHL for four years, along with Shawn O’Donnell, was a pesky thorn in the side of the Wolf Pack’s foes.

According to sources, Nehring was sought after by several other teams for an AHL deal, most noticeably the Hershey Bears, whom he burned with one of the best individual plays in the postseason in Game 5 in which he set up Chris Mueller’s game-winning OT goal. Nehring made a spectacular individual effort spanning from his own end of the ice to behind the Hershey net.

In 2014-2015, Nehring played 53 games in the regular season and 15 games in the playoffs with the Wolfpack despite never officially signing an SPC contract.

per Greg Drinnan's excellent WHL hockey blog 'Taking Note'
http://gdrinnan.blogspot.ca/2015/07/asuchak-gets-ahl-deal-mattila-young-man.html

F Spencer Asuchak (Tri-City, Prince George, 2008-12) of Kamloops has signed a one-way, one-year contract with the Chicago Wolves, the AHL affiliate of the NHL’s St. Louis Blues. . . . The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder played most of last season with the ECHL-champion Allen Americans. He had 30 points, including 12 goals, in 28 games. In 25 playoff games, he added 21 points, 11 of them goals. . . . He also had two goals and four assists in 18 games with the AHL’s Providence Bruins and was pointless in three games with the AHL’s Worcester Sharks. . . . Asuchak is to learn in August whether he will get an invitation to the Blues’ training camp. Perhaps his Kamloops connection will provide him some currency with Blues head coach Ken Hitchcock.

Going from playing half a season in the NHL to signing a AHL contract on the third day of free agency seems like a big drop...

Byron Froese's contract with the Leafs is now official.
http://mapleleafs.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=773847&navid=DL|TOR|home

I wonder if they Leafs were forced to make this move because other NHL teams were interested to sign Froese.

Other news :

Two former Portland Pirates have found new homes. Eric Selleck has signed a one-year deal with the Arizona Coyotes while Evan Oberg has signed with the Augsburger Panther of the DEL

Yan Danis who played 35 games last season in the AHL with Norfolk and Hartford has signed with the New Jersey Devils.

Not Quite So

True Norfolk is in the ECHL this season. However the Norfolk owner didn't fold the team, but rather the Ducks folded up Norfolk using some less than savory tactics.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Rapids Griffins on Monday announced that they have re-signed left wing Jeff Hoggan and defenseman Nathan Paetsch and have signed left wing Triston Grant, who returns to the team following a one-year absence. Paetsch inked a two-year deal while Hoggan and Grant each signed one-year contracts.

The trio led the Griffins to their first Calder Cup championship in 2012-13 and will again provide the team’s veteran foundation in 2015-16 under new head coach Todd Nelson.
