Kovacs will over here in a bit for prospect camp. Wonder if he signs an ELC to play in Hartford next season...

If he signs, it will be to play in Greenville. He won't make the Pack this year. Jensen, Rambo, Chris Brown, Ox, Joly, Stromwall, Chapie, Nieves, Fogarty, Klingberg are all ahead of him right now. That's 10 forwards. 50-50 that Hrivik stays in Hartford. Good chance Nehring returns, he did well in Hartford. The Rangers always sign AHL vets with NHL experience, last year they had Megna, Adam, Gibbons, Tarnasky, Paille, Lindblad. On top of that, there are always veteran career AHLers on the squad: O'Donnell, Oleksuk, McCarthy, Tyler Brown last year.

Even if Hartford brings in only a couple AHL vets instead of the 10 they had last year, there's no space for Kovacs. His Swedish league is below the AHL, and making a move from Europe to North America makes things that much more difficult. He needs to stay in Europe and either dominate Swe-2 or make the SHL.

If he comes, he is playing on a line with Stromwall.

They aren't going to give career AHLers priority over him(roster spot) unless he can't keep up at the AHL level at all. He will likely be on the 3rd line getting 12-13 minutes.

Even then, NYR would loan him back to Sweden. It might actually be an okay idea to sign him now and try him out in North America.

I think they might want to develop a homegrown pest with an edge and scoring touch. The type of player we lack since Carcillo, Prust (stone hands) and Avery. Better to do that in NA than in Europe where he can ease into this role in the style of play they need to have him develop into. Be it in Hartford or Greenville... I actually think he may have a shot on the bottom lines in the AHL if he has a good camp and sticks to his designated program. AIK was an alright team. Allsvenskan is massively underated by some as a development league. In a usual fashion it might be too early, but in this case methinx not

Rangers will be participating in Traverse City again.

Last year, we went 1-3.

This year will hopefully go a bit better. Buch, Stromwall, etc will be joining this time.
