The games with Texas are hard to overlook when deciding between ND and OU. I'd probably have OU in the top 4 if they'd faced Russell and Boykin. Argument can be made to have Michigan State higher but if they win the B1G they're in.

What a season from Navy

So who replaces Miles at LSU? Have to figure he's gone after their finale. I've read rumors/reports that Jimbo Fisher would be a target but I would have a hard time believing he'd leave FSU. He's got a good thing going there and consistently has great recruiting classes.

If Temple wins this weekend, the American winner is a lock for the Group of Five berth, right? I mean... unless Navy beats Houston and Temple/USF and then somehow loses to Army...

I dont see how it isnt even without temple winning. Navy with a win over Houston would get a huge jump over everyone and Houston beating navy would be a huge jump for them

But remember the vote is before army week so they can at that time put navy in (assuming they win aac) or wait for army.

My brother is trying to convince me...

...that Michigan will get into the playoff without making their conference championship game if all of this happens.

#1 Clemson: loses to South Carolina and North Carolina to finish 11-2
#2 Alabama loses to Auburn and Florida to finish 10-3
#3 Oklahoma loses to Oklahoma State to finish 10-2
#4 Iowa beats Michigan State to finish 13-0
#5 Michigan State beats Penn State but loses to Iowa to finish 11-2
#6 Notre Dame loses to Stanford to finish 10-2
#7 Baylor beats TCU but loses to Texas to finish 10-2
#8 Ohio State loses to Michigan to finish 10-2
#9 Stanford beats Notre Dame but loses to UCLA to finish 10-3
#10 Michigan beats Ohio State to finish 10-2
#11 Oklahoma State beats Oklahoma to finish 11-1
#12 Florida loses to Florida State but beats Alabama to finish 11-2
#13 Florida State beats Florida to finish 10-2
#14 North Carolina loses to NC State but beats Clemson to finish 11-2
#15 Navy beats Army to finish 10-2
#16 Northwestern beats Illinois to finish 10-2
#17 Oregon finished 9-3
#18 Ole Miss loses to Mississippi State to finish 8-4
#19 TCU loses to Baylor to finish 9-3
#20 Washington State finished 8-4
#21 Mississippi State beats Ole Miss to finish 9-3
#22 UCLA beats Southern Cal and Stanford to finish 10-3
#23 Utah beats Colorado to finish 9-3
#24 Toledo finished 9-2
#25 Temple beats UConn but loses to Houston to finish 10-3
NR Houston beats Temple to finish 12-1

If ALL of this happens, Iowa at 13-0 (unbeaten) and Oklahoma State at 11-1 (outright Big 12 champs) would be locks to get in. Who in the world would the other two be? My brother thinks Michigan (despite not making the championship game of their own conference) should be one of them (he is a huge Michigan fan). I don't know... I mean, this isn't going to happen, but what if it did?

I am all aboard the non-traditional powers train. So UNC getting in would be cool. They will need some new hardware for if the NCAA ever gets around to doing the right thing and stripping them of everything for their decade+ of shenanigans.

Think the winners of the ACC, Big 10, and SEC championship games are locks, and the 4th spot will be between Stanford, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and, if the above all completely **** the bed, Oklahoma State.

I think the only lock is the Big Ten winner. If UNC and Florida win, I don't think they are both getting in. If Oklahoma wins, they should be in. If Notre Dame wins, I bet the committee puts them in just because they would be an 11-1 Notre Dame.

I can't believe the NCAA still hasn't gotten on them about that yet. I don't know if they're just turning the other cheek or what, but wow.

If I was a coach and the NCAA was investigating my program for something, I would probably tell them I am not accepting the punishment until you guys do something about UNC.

Notre Dame is out.

Assuming Oklahoma hangs on, they're in. The Big Ten winner is in regardless of who it is. If Alabama and Clemson win, they are in.

But what if one of Clemson or Alabama loses? Are the Buckeyes in? What about Stanford if they beat Southern Cal next weekend?

If Clemson loses UNC will go in. And dont worry about Bama they wont lose.

You think so? I think the Buckeyes are in if Clemson loses. UNC lost to South Carolina. and Clemson would be their only notable win. Pittsburgh is a decent win, but it isn't a resume changer.

And yeah, I know about Alabama. Florida's offense is brutal.

So who is most likely going to new years bowl's

My projection:

Semifinal #1: #1 Clemson vs. #4 Oklahoma
Semifinal #2: #2 Alabama vs. #3 Michigan State
Rose Bowl: Stanford (Pac-12) vs. Ohio State (Big Ten)
Sugar Bowl: TCU (Big 12) vs. Ole Miss (SEC)
Peach Bowl: Notre Dame (at-large) vs. Florida State (at-large)
Fiesta Bowl: Houston (Group of Five) vs. Iowa (at-large)

Although I have no idea which bowl gets first pick...

Tar heels win the conference. and beat the #1 team while they are at it. I wouldn't be surprised if UNC gets left out in favor of Ohio state. But I dont see the c putting in Ohio state after they lost to MSU. that was the game, just like last year when msu lost off the special teams

Also I dont think ND would play Florida State. Unless Golson starts. I think they play somebody else. Probably one of the big ten teams. Michigan, Ohio state or MSU (if they lose to iowa) Then maybe it goes to FSU
