wow, this Klingberg guy has got 20 points in 18 games. Is he a product of Benn+Seguin or is he really so good?

Both. IMO he's not a catalyst but very confident in his game because he plays with the super stars.

He shows up on the sheet a lot but I think on that pp many guys would. His passing and two way game are strong. Seguin is certainly the catalyst while Benn is almost Ovi like at times with that shot....it just goes in...even after the goalie gets a good piece of it.

I can't wait for a Nashville and Dallas series. That's good hockey.

Klingberg is legit, he's in the running for the Norris so far. This guy really came out of nowhere.

Good to see the Pens lose again, but the Rags keep winning. I think we will end up behind the Rags and ahead of the Pens at the end of the season.

What happened in the Jets-Preds game? 7-0 with a ****-ton of PIMs.

I haven't seen any Pens games except the one where they made us look terrible. What's going on up there? Has the "Kessel is an albatross" talk started yet?

No. It's more of the "Mike Johnston takes some of the best offensive talent in the world and neuters them and should be fired" talk along with the "their defensive core is laughably overrated and being held afloat by MAF" talk.

Honestly, just "Pens management makes GMGM look awesome with MJ being this year's frontrunner for the Adam Oates Trophy as the worst coach". And Crosby sux.

Going to ECF over Rangers will be very good in itself, not depending on the rest of playoff. Rangers are good.

And it will make guys much more confident which should help after (and following years too).

So we just should focus on 1) getting to playoffs 2) winning 1st round 2) winning against Rangers.

I'm 90% sure we will face the Rangers in the 2nd round again this year in the playoffs, and if this team has learned anything from last year, we finish them off before getting to Game 7.

Leafs tank is on... they even brought Vesa Toskala back.

Not sure which one is worse, that Stepan goal or that rebound which lead to the GWG in the final minute.

Bernier is hot garbage, but Babcock has the Leafs improving after each game. Imagine if they had a goalie like Price or Lundqvist, they could be a bubble team.

The Rangers will come back down to Earth in the very near future. 46.1 CF% (28th) and 106.6 PDO (1st). Their forward corps is underrated but their defensive corps is massively overrated and they're being buoyed by The King.

Reimer has been good this season, it's Bernier that's bringing the whole team down. 2.30 GAA and .925 SV% for Reimer who has 5-2-3 record in his 10 games. 3.17 GAA and .895 SV% for Bernier who has lost every game he has started this season (0-7-1, yikes ).

It's obvious the Rangers aren't going to maintain a 130+pt pace for the entire season. Puck luck will change a bit, and they'll come down somewhat. However, the points they've already earned are banked and not going anywhere. Further still, almost all of their time is spent with the lead. Their CF% is 50.2 in score close situations (and their FF% and SF% are even better). The territorial game tells the same story, as they take 5.4% more draws in the offensive zone than the defensive in score close situations. They're not as bad as the 46.1% 5-on-5 CF% suggests, simply because they're spending such a large portion of their time defending big leads.

Agree with you on all accounts, but even most Ranger fans are saying they're not playing as well as their record indicates and that Lundqvist is carrying the team. I watch a bunch of NYR games and they're just getting all of the breaks right now. They're a good team, for sure, and possibly the best in the East but they're not that good.

I personally think the best teams in the East are NYR, MTL, WSH, and NYI.

That rebound wasn't bad. It was the fact the scoring player was almost right beside the shot at the blue line and was completely untouched from that point. I would say that defense was even worse than the center ice goal. Those bounces right in front are always dangerous.

Can't speak too much to the first one, but that second one is a true statement. Aren't the Penguins giving up some crazy amount of shots a game?

Yeah, that was a terrible rebound. Very weak shot from the point with nobody in front of him. Every NHL-caliber goalie should be able to atleast direct that into the corner.

As for the Pens, they are giving up 6th most shots against per game (31.0). That's still less than the Rangers who give up 31.3 shots per game.

According to Friedman, Department of Player Safety has received requests from teams to monitor Tom Wilson.

How about instead, you quit *****ing about clean hits? He got penalized for the one charge. ****ing whiny pieces of ****.

Yup. Obvious it's been going on for some time. Trotz has been reeling him in for the most part since then, because he's clearly not going to get a fair shake.
