Kind of like when Polish announcers pronounce English names?

Not even close. Witecki is pronounced Witetski, Pociecha - Potsiekha, Laszkiewicz - Lashkiewich and so on. If Poles treated English names the same way Shields would be Skheealds but I'm pretty sure they do better than that.

Kowalowka was just mentioned a few times which is in fact Kowalyowka. Overall, that's pretty brutal.

It also seems like the first game that they're playing Dowd like a first liner along with Shields & Lachowicz.

1 win from promotion :( - Had we beaten either Lithuania or Croatia..

After game 1, you'd swear GB was heading down to D3 the way some overreacted

3-2 record isn't all bad when you consider 1 loss was to Lithuania that leaned heavily on NHLer Zubrus (1G 1A in the 2-1 win) and Croatia that got outplayed but took advantage of Murphy in net.

Hopefully the youth movement continues next year. IMO Weaver & Tait were hugely exploited and there are kids out there that could compete in D1B for GB.

It's very annoying that I can't watch this. People were complaining about the commentators on the english stream but at least the stream worked lol

Congrats to all you Croatian guys, a bit of a lucky win but not that it matters. PPs were the difference, Lithuanian one stunk

Not that lucky lol It could have been 4:2 easy if they made the penalty shot. All the goals were clean breakaways. And our PK has actually (except Poland and Romania) been excellent. Hell we even got a naive goal from them where 2 defenders watched as the Lithuanian shot at Tomljenovic 5 times. Similar game to the GB one actually.
And yeh a brilliant Torunament. i am damn proud of everyone but most of all our Home grown players that really played excellent, better than anyone hoped!

Don't be such a homer, Lithuanians had crapload of chances meanwhile you got your 1st and 2nd goals after lucky bounces. Saying it could've been 4-2 is kind of true but there would be as much truth in saying it could've been 2-4 in favor of Lithuania.

Once again, not saying it was an undeserved win but luck surely was on your side.
