Did I steal BBKers thunder? Mods can delete/merge/whatever Just figured I'd get the new thread up since part III is over 1,000

(Until / If Mods can fix, click the quote here to be led to Post #6 for BBKers epic tracking of our players. Again, mods, feel free to do whatever it takes to make this as easy for the users of the forum. In my haste to create a new thread, I forgot that BBKers has this tracking sheet for all to use and love. My fault, everyone).

Mods. Maybe you could be so kind as to copy the first post in the last thread on this topic into the first post on this new thread under my ID ??? That way I can go in and change things there as we proceed as I then could also get editors access???
Much appreciated if possible - thanx

Interesting

Would love to bring him in on a PTO. Absolutely love it.

Did he have chemistry with Marty?

EDIT - Had to go back to the 08/09 season to see a year where MSL and Malone played with each other often. So, probably too long ago to be useful.

Malone did pot 26 goals that year, his most with the TBL :naughty:

Interesting

Reaks Cigar Man Reclamation Failure all the way to Sweden
But for 650 k I would consider it instead of Carcillo
Would need to move a contract though - maybe Yogan to Florida for a fifth? Or Kristo for a third somewhere needing offense (Nashville/Carolina?)
Maybe too early for this kind of trade though
I dunno

I think I'd take him as a depth forward. Can use the size.

As a player, I'm a fan of having him on the 4th line. The fact that he was just arrested for Coke possession, I am not. We have a lot of young kids and are an NYC based team, it's just a stupid combo.

Glen Sather is playing Father Flanagan again. Ryan Malone was shocked when the cops found cocaine in his pocket.

Malone, 34, waived his Miranda rights and told Visser he didn't know where the 1.3 grams of cocaine came from, according to discovery documents the Tampa Bay Times received Tuesday through a public records request.

Malone told Visser he didn't believe the officer planted the drugs on him, according to the documents, but he was "baffled" because he was wearing the same jeans for three days.

"I asked where it came from," Visser wrote in his report. "And he said he was just shocked."

The Rangers owe Mike Liut a favor? Liut is the player agent. Malone gets the chance to showcase himself to other teams.

I could care less about this. I want the team to succeed. Malone would help the team IMO. I don't care what grab bag group of misfits are on the NYR as long as they win the cup.

Malone wouldn't be a bad option as a 4th line option on the cheap. Can still bring some sandpaper and kill penalties, but he can't be relied upon to be a regular skater. I'd hardly classify the guy as a coke head.

May be a solid net front presence on the PP as well.

Here's the thing. Ryan Malone played decently well when healthy. The problem was his health. This team has the depth to cover if he only plays 40 games. The question that I ask myself is "will Ryan Malone help this team for 40 games?" To me, I think they answer is yes.

I absolutely agree. I think he will help this team even if it is for half the season.

I liked the guy with PITT and early with Tampa. Honestly, lost track of him and he seems a bit removed from his last season in which he'd look better than the 3rd line candidates for this team. I don't see how he'd get a minute on the PP and think at 35, and being a big guy who has missed time in each of the last few seasons, I don't think it would be worth even a try. Kind of reeks of an even lesser version of Kevin Stevens during his last season with the Rangers. I will admit: have not seen him much the last couple seasons...

I don't say this often, but the team probably has enough forwards vying for a spot in camp. Depth is pretty solid, don't really need Malone.

Although its comical that some of you don't want him just because he did cocaine. Makes no sense.

I don't really care who they are. If they're willing to come to camp on a PTO, I want them in camp. If Malone wants a contract that's in the neighborhood of 1 yr at ~$800k, I think about it. But if he's willing to come on a PTO? No harm in bringing him in.

Among other veterans. Anyone who will come. The more the merrier.

You can only give playing time to a certain number of guys. Going off the top of my head at the moment we have Hayes, Kristo, Bourque, Fast, Lindberg, Mueller and maybe Haggerty battling for 2 spots, and one of those is the 13th forward.

What's wrong with adding more fuel to the fire and icing the most competitive team possible?

I don't see any harm in bringing in veteran bodies on PTO's to push the younger guys to MAKE the team and not just be handed the spot - or only have to compete against other young kids for spots.
