Chicago just waived Kyle Beach, 11th overall pick a few years ago. Wasn't Chicago used as an example of a team who Pens should follow in developing their prospects? :)

Bad pick but Shero's still only drafted 2 non-scrub forwards in 7 years; Staal and Bennett.

34 players at camp still.

With Vokoun soon heading to an IR, it´s virtually 33. 10 names left.. Big game tonight for some guys. Hopefully playing Glass again means that they are at least seriously evaluating him and comparing to the other bottom-6ers. But I don´t know what´s in the Bylsma´s head really..

Anyone else feel like if Crosby was giving 2 handed chops to the legs of a player the way Kessel did that there would be outrage?

There is a fair amount of talk about Kessel being a chicken-****, should be suspended 5-10 etc on other boards. But yah there'd be a lot more if it was Crosby. Except during the Olympics then the Canadian fans would say it's OK. ;)

I think the great hope is that Bylsma doesn't get to make that decision anymore or is forced to give a reason for Glass playing (he won't have one good enough). Bylsma probably has an inner monologue about how much potential Glass has and how playing more minutes with better players will really let him show that.

Crosby can't even so much as look at an official after a terrible call against his team without being called a whiny girly-man diver-princess. So... yeah.

No Toews, Kane, Sharp, Hossa (still hurt), Saad, Keith or Seabrook for the #Blackhawks against the #Penguins' big guns tonight.

Thanks for the update. That's a shame, honestly. I was looking forward to a semi-full Hawks roster.

Honestly I still wouldn't be surprised if the Penguins make things unnecessarily hard on themselves. They have a knack for that.

Not surprising. A little gamesmanship IMO. They play us twice this year and a reasonable shot at a Cup Final (as reasonable as any other two teams)... no reason to telegraph your gameplan before the first game. They already know we're trying to grind them down. ;)

Unfortunately for you, you'll be going up against the ace goaltending that is Zatkoff and Fleury :sarcasm:

There's outrage about Kessel right now (and there shouldn't be). There's also outrage about Scott (and there shouldn't be), while the guy responsible for that whole mess, Devane, is being ignored by everyone.

Holy smokes! Not every single one of their prospects has worked out! They just have to settle for being one of the best org in the league at developing young players and the only team to win two cups in the last decade.

Time to tar and feather Bowman and make him walk down the entirety of Western Avenue seeking repentance for his sins.

It pains me to see camps where the real winners don't get roster spots. Obviously some people are guaranteed spots. But 4th liners should never be guaranteed anything. Harry Z, Chucky, Vitale, Sill, etc. have all waaaaay out played Adams/Glass. To me, Z is someone who fits Glass's spot even better.

This will be a tough one to swallow when Adams/Glass are on our 3rd/4th lines and those guys are elsewhere DESERVING of a spot.

Interesting quote. Martin looks like he'll bring exactly what we had hoped he would.

Martin, reputable for his defensive acumen, did not hesitate to ask a specific question about changes Reirden had implemented to help the Penguins finish seventh in overall goals against last season.

“We don't spend a lot of time in defensive-zone coverage, and it's because we have forwards that have the puck so much,†Reirden said.

“Jacques wanted to know what we are asking our defensemen to think about when they were in coverage. He wanted to see if we were asking them to think about too much. He just wanted to know, so he asked. That's a little thing, but he has seen enough little things that you want to pay attention.â€
