Craig Button loves every prospect and compares their games to proven NHL stars when in reality on a few will ever accomplish anything in the NHL from the second round on.

Make my day.
I still think we would have benefited more if we took the (perceived) Oilers deal of 1st round, 2nd round Klefbom.

Monahan, Shinkaruk, Dauphin/Petan, Klefbom

Is an even larger haul than what we have now.

Of course we would apart from the fact Monahan was gone, and the deal didn't exist.

and this feels like a troll.

Monahan wasn't there at 7, how would we have picked him?

Flames drafted Monahan, so we couldn't have selected him with the Oilers pick.

Feel good move.

Man, this had really turned into a father son picnic.

edit: Gotta admit... got a little choked up there when they hugged. My oldest son is 12 going on 18 and I'm wondering where the time went.

I like the Liberati pick. He should get a lot more minutes next year, and London is great at developing D. Not bad for a 7th round long shot.

Miles Liberati looks pretty decent for a 7th round pick. 2 London Knights.

Another O pick. Giliis has sacked his Q scouts, excellent.

Not a bad pick for a 7th. Not a smurfy offensive forward like I wanted but also not a slug footed 6'4"+D behemoth Dman with no hands and no IQ.

heck
And that's a wrap!
I think I preferred doing all 7 rounds in one day instead of splitting it up over two days.

2 more hours until Edler's NTC kicks in.

Hopefully BoHo doesn't turn into BooHoo.

And could we not have chosen a nick that doesn't rhyme with the acursed CoHo?

I didn't like the all day draft. I am exhausted sitting through it all.

But all in all, an interesting day. Schneids!!!!!!! Followed by a strong draft. I think we did well, besides that 6th.

Easily one of the best Canucks draft in a long while.

That Shinkaruk pick just came completely out of left field. That easily made the draft for the Canucks. Horvat was good, but he was a 9th overall. Shinkaruk at 24th was just absolutely highway robbery.

Subban in the 4th round's also a steal. Good long term project for us.
