I'll try to keep an eye on Smith next time I go. I'll also text myself the lines and pairings so I can pass them along.

Lonewolfe, VDG and Hishon weren't in the lineup last night. Not sure who sits when they come back. But Desbiens is a guy you don't have listed who will definitely be in the lineup.

They're still injured right? I was thinking when healthy. I'm not sure how good Desbiens is though, he's not had a very big career so far, but he did stay up for awhile so maybe he could surprise me.

I've seen the lines written this way. Plus Cheek and Tam played in the second game instead of Arseneau and Moffie.

Olver-Malone-Wyman
Lerg-Sgarbossa-Meurs
Carey-Agozzino-Desbiens
Heard-Smith-Arseneau

Stollery-Elliott
Siemens-Beaupre
Lauridsen-Moffie

Highlights: (check out Pickard's save)

I think Oliver and the Avs' front office like to get some of those AHL journeymen to help the younger players along. Think Desbiens is one of those guys this season. Same with a guy like JT Wyman. That's why they've had guys like Greg Mauldin, Patrick Rissmiller, Hugh Jessiman, Bill Thomas, Brian Sutherby, etc. over the last few seasons.

Little bit of leadership in the room. Guys who understand the grind. Consistent AHL players.

That is a very small roster up front.

Not that small (all measurements from Lake Erie's site):

Olver (5'10" 170 lbs)-Malone (6'1" 210)-Wyman (6'2" 209)
Lerg (5'10" 175)-Sgarbossa (5'11" 180)-Meurs (6'0" 180)
Carey (6'1" 190)-Agozzino (5'9" 185)-Desbiens (6'2" 208)
Heard (6'1" 180)-Smith (5'10" 178)-Arseneau (6'2" 215)
Schumacher (6'5" 210)
Cheek (6'2" 200)
van der Gulik (5'11" 185)
Hishon (5'10" 175)

The smallest line is the 2nd, but by AHL standards it really isn't that undersized.

Is Hish still struggling with that groin injury?

Who is this Schumacher guy? Our new team driver? Buckle up, boys.

7th round pick that LAKs didn't sign and Pracey is high on. He looked like he had some great natural talent but poor fundamentals based on scouting reports. Seems to be a pet project, see if he pans out kind of thing.

So the Monsters are awful.......

I'm only looking at the stats but either the defense is really bad or the goalies can't stop anything.

19 shots against in the first period. Haven't seen anything of the game but from reading the numbers I wouldn't blame Pickard.
Lee Moffie -3.

Monsters down 5-2 now and Pickard gave up all 5 goals. Looks like Siemens isn't playing tonight.
