agreed , we are no lock at all to get in , Detroit and Boston are getting in , Tbay will be better , and we will be battling Ottawa and the Leafs , its no gimme

If everything goes wrong we'll have to settle for Connor McDavid.

They should have left Columbus in the Western conference in my opinion. That way it would have been 8+7 in each conference. Top 3 of every division makes the playoffs plus 2 wild cards for every conference. Seems a lot more fair than having 8 of 14 teams and 8 of 16 teams making it.

This is what I would like to see if the Coyotes move to Quebec.

Columbus and Detroit both go to the Midwest, giving the West 15 teams. Philly moves to the South, and Quebec joins the (North)East division.

Top 8 teams from each conference make the playoffs, with the top two seeds being the two division winners in each conference. Columbus and Detroit won't have to go to the West Coast any more than the Eastern Conference teams if they balance the schedule like this:

Teams in the Midwest and South play three of the teams in their division six times, and the other four teams five times = 38 games, and play the other 22 teams twice = 44 games.

Teams in the Pacific and (North)East play the other six teams six times = 36 games, and play the other 23 teams twice = 46 games.
