There's no doubt Lindholm and Forsberg go 1 and 2 in a redraft

Might want to read up on the definition of that word.

There's 30 different GM's in the league who would pick from a variety of guys in those 2 spots, including Slavin, Lindholm, M Murray, Forsberg, Trouba, and Parayko. In hindsight, I imagine the Oilers probably take one of Slavin/Lindholm, and the Blue Jackets take the other.

using a goal analogy for a defenseman might have been erroneous on my part but you get what i am saying

especially since you said two posts earlier that said player would have to maintain said level of play for an entire season for it to be a "break out"

now you are contradicting your own point by saying my example would in fact be a "break out" even though by your own admission it would be less than half a season

I think the difference between the two is pretty easy to see. You'd be silly to think that wouldn't be a players best season either way. Regardless of how much they maintained play during the previous two.

Slavin broke out in 15-16. There's no question whatsoever about that.

Bogging the conversation down in a semantic argument about whether that was a "break out season" is just drawing a distinction without a difference, because one guy in here is literally unable to walk away without having the last word.

There's not a single DMan who should be ahead of him who is not.
He was sensational in the playoffs.
Remember, this is a list who has Alex Galchenyuk #3.

Galchenyuk is wayyyyyyyyyy better then Rielly. One is the most productive player from his draft class and the other is one of the worst defensive defenceman(-67) in the NHL.

Galchenyuk is a top5 player in that draft while Rielly should rank outside the top10 for sure. Rielly is the most overrated player of this draft.

According to Marc Bergevin, and this is exactly what he said, not a charicature of his way of thinking, Morgan Reilly is a stud dman that you never trade. Subban and Markov are not.

Just a few months later, I doubt you even agree with yourself anymore.

I'll give it a go.

1. Hampus Lindholm
2. Jaccob Slavin
3. Morgan Rielly
4. Jacob Trouba
5. Filip Forsberg
6. Colton Parayko
7. Matt Dumba
8. Brady Skjei
9. Shayne Gostisbehere
10. Teuvo Teravainen

I don't rate goalies as high but they would come next:

12. Connor Hellebuyck
13. Fredrick Andersen
14.Andrei Vasilevskiy

15. Alex Galchenyuk
