What's up with all the red paint in Vienna?
How are you supposed to score goals when there's no goal line for the puck to cross?
That is still the rule, right?

And black paint in the other end?
Does that mean that it's a goal in that end of the rink once the puck crosses the goal line and becomes invisible to the naked eye? :sarcasm:

^ I watched the Plzen-Luleå game. Truly a joke. Not to mention that the painted ice has nothing to do with this tournament.

Jokerit lost 2 top players: Ben Eaves and Riku Hahl (they have been struggling with injuries before the tourney) so their chances of winning this tournament just got harder. Plus the goaltending is a huge question mark.

Jokerit - Bud game was nice but where's the hitting?

And this is great, Hungarian Zoltan Hetenyi is club's 3rd goalie, in this tournament he is backup but his personality and two SM-Liiga wins have already won the hearts of the fans...3 hungarian flags out there:

Well, considering that the game was played in Austria, there´s a huge chance that those people are actually Hungarians, who came to watch the game because of Zoltán. Considering that his former team plays in a league with the Austrian team, Hungarian fans are hardly a rarity in Austrian hockey halls. ;)

Ok but I'm pretty sure they are from Finnish Jokerit fans cos those hungarian flags are also in the SM-Liiga games now ;) the fans started to buy them after Zoltan's first SM-Liiga game. Zoltan is a "cult legend" already :)

Luleå ahead on the PP, puck took an awkward bounce before Tuohimaa. Not sure if there was a deflection as well.
I missed the first period. How did Tuohimaa looked otherwise? and who controlled the game?

Glad to hear Eaves is ok... *knocks the table wood*

Jookkkeriiiit! :D The road fans are really good and I see beers in their hands and I wont blame them, this is why they should legalize drinking beer at the seats in the league. I was watching last KalPa - Jokerit and had alot more fun when I were bit "tipsy", lot more exitement and showing your feelings then :D Had to drink between peroids thought.

Kinda sad that Salzburg has a chance to win the European Trophy simply because they automatically qualified to the Red Bulls Salute as host - and then beefed up their roster just for these games. (See: signing of Marty Turco)

This, among other reasons, are why this tournament will never be taken seriously among hockey fans.

Not too seriously but still gives you an idea on how these leagues rank between each other. Although the CHL served this purpose way better as it had the very best of each country competing. And as you mentioned, Salzburg doesn't really represent the level of the Austrian league as they bulked their team with guys they wouldn't afford to keep for the whole season and of course the fact that they should have been eliminated already.
