They don't move , that's the problem
The problem is they don't have a quaterback. None of our defense men should be playing on a first PP wave in the NHL atm. PP starts from the back. If the start is wrong then the rest will be wrong too. You also need a shot from the back and/or a guy able to sneak in. Our PP under Markov was always one of the best and it was mainly because of Markov not because of the coaches or the forwards.

PP under prime Markov :

2002-03 : 14% (25th in the league)
2003-04 : 17.2% (10th - Markov is young and not used as the main guy on the first wave yet he is 3rd for TOI on the PP by a dman)
-------------------------------------------------------------
2005-06 : 19.2% (5th in the league - Markov first productive season on the first wave)
2006-07 : 22.8% (1st)
2007-08 : 24.1% (1st)
2008-09 : 19.3% (13rd - not sure what happened)
2009-10 : 21.8% (2nd)
2010-11 : 19.7% (7th - Subban first season Markov played only 7 games)
2011-12 : 14.3% (28th - Markov played 13 games only and Subban had a down year in term of goals in his sophomore season)
2012-13 : 20.7% (5th)
2013-14 : 17.2% (19th)
2014-15 : 16.5% (23rd Markov is 35 and slowly aging)
--------------------------------------------------------------
2015-16 : 16.2% (25th - Markov is not in his prime anymore)
2016-17 : 19.7% (13rd - Old Markov and Weber)

After that we hovered in the middle of the pack for a few years under Weber/Petry and we are here today. We also had great "sidekicks" back then in Souray, Petry, Streit, Hamrlik .... The first priority of KH if Reinbacher doesn't develop as a good PP quaterback will be to acquire one.

Uncle Bob figured it would be a good idea to let Mark Streit walk. Markov would just create another PP partner. If I remember correctly the chosen one was Komisarek and it failed miserably.

Later in the season we traded for Mathieu Schneider and it clicked right away. We started producing again.

And yet we've certainly had worse. Newie didn't look out of place at center when he played there pre season. I put zero credence on anything that comes out of the mouths of Avs fans. They are totally spoiled and unrealistic when assessing Newhook. It's like they expect a raw rookie to come in and be better than Kadri was.

His numbers are were very good for what his role was.
They’re not clueless just cause they’re Avs fans. They did have the benefit of viewing the player longer than most Hab fans have.

Where there’s smoke, there’s often fire but it’s a new start for him so let’s find out where his limitations really are. We can revisit when we have a bigger enough sample size of him playing C as a Hab.

So at 21 he is done and has no future with the Habs?
I never thought he had any future with us to begin with. Nothing he's done so far has changed that opinion, in fact he's probably gone backwards.
