He's got a lot of things going for him. First is size and aggressiveness at 6'2, 200lbs. Second is overall mobility, which is pretty decent. Third is a big point shot.
Another weird defensive defenseman pick; the guys on 1040 seem to think is just another attempt at adding depth to Utica.
Not sure why people keep saying Defensive D-man... guy had 12 goals and 20 assists. Not too shabby.
Another Tate Olson type of pick? Never paid attention to him for this draft.
Guy is D+1, but is only one month older than some of our other picks this year. Also, he's .5 PPG, which isn't anything to write home about, but nothing to scoff at either; the bare minimum for successful defenseman.
What an underwhelming ending. Miles Liberati type 7th round pick, unspectacular defender with nothing that sets him apart. Average at everything
You realize this is a 7th round pick right? Miles Liberati was worth a shot.
Brassard is also quite a bit better than Liberati:
Liberati draft year:
6'0', 175lbs, LH
(season + playoffs):
52 GP, 3, 7 A, 10 Points, +5
Brassard draft year:
6'2, 201lbs, RH
74 GP, 13 g, 23 a, 36 Points, Even
Actually Brassard had 4 points in 28 games in his draft year. Hes an overager
And yes I know it's a seventh round pick but they were both defenders who were very bland defenders. Bottom pairing AHL fodder
It's just a meh, whatever pick. Not saying it's wrong to draft for AHL depth but it's just underwhelming
