Another weird defensive defenseman pick; the guys on 1040 seem to think is just another attempt at adding depth to Utica.

I'm gonna..
I'll add another meh.

Palmu imo makes up for this pick and the Gunnarsson pick.

Maybe one of these guys has a very outside shot of becoming a fringe 8th/9th d-man?

Guy is D+1, but is only one month older than some of our other picks this year. Also, he's .5 PPG, which isn't anything to write home about, but nothing to scoff at either; the bare minimum for successful defenseman.

Pick reminds me of Carl Neil (not Tate Olson), a flier on a defenseman who may have a more established role his D+1/2 season.

Not sure why people keep saying Defensive D-man... guy had 12 goals and 20 assists. Not too shabby.

Because that's what they said on 1040, probably. Though they didn't seem to know much about him either.

Shane Malloy had no clue who he was.

Another Tate Olson type of pick? Never paid attention to him for this draft.

0.5 ppg is the bare minimum threshold for NHL puck handling, usually. Could be something to him

it's 7th round, not a player I fret about. The earlier pick - Gunnarson - is definition of meh.

What an underwhelming ending. Miles Liberati type 7th round pick, unspectacular defender with nothing that sets him apart. Average at everything

You realize this is a 7th round pick right? Miles Liberati was worth a shot.

Brassard is also quite a bit better than Liberati:

Liberati draft year:
6'0', 175lbs, LH
(season + playoffs):
52 GP, 3, 7 A, 10 Points, +5

Brassard draft year:
6'2, 201lbs, RH
74 GP, 13 g, 23 a, 36 Points, Even

Actually Brassard had 4 points in 28 games in his draft year. Hes an overager

And yes I know it's a seventh round pick but they were both defenders who were very bland defenders. Bottom pairing AHL fodder

It's just a meh, whatever pick. Not saying it's wrong to draft for AHL depth but it's just underwhelming
